THe problem I have with this is that it takes mass to stop kenetic energy. The fibers can be strong enough to prevent penetration, but if you donot have the mass behind it to stop the kenetic energy, you can still be mortaly wounded by the impact. i.e. Shoot someone wearing one of these in the cent...

Nah, a Third-Person shooter is more fitting, then have like a melee combo system (dayum I'm getting my game dev groove again). Because if you think about it, going from on foot into an AS or a vehicle seems to flow better, and not all the battles are on Arm Slaves. Then have like "mini-game" mission...
