I've been trying to figure out Gauron's nationality for a very long time now.
Can someone help?
I know that there was one episode where the Russian dude called Gauron Chinese and got killed. He's not Chinese, is he?

I heard Cambodian somewhere . . . but I can't remember where so that could be completely unfounded.
He's Asian something.

"Believed to be Japanese, or at least of Asian ethnicity, Gauron and Sousuke have a long and bloodstained history together."
I also think he might be Cambodian since Sousuke did what Gauron did when he was younger in Cambodia.
Also has 9 citizenships, but we don't know for what countries.

Well, his name
does translate to "Nine Dragons", so I'm not surprised.
(I'm actually tempted to tag him as Cantonese because of that translation, but that's just me.)

There are a number of places in China called 9 Dragons and the most famous one is Kowloon / Hong Kong.
So Cantonese would be a good guess.

Yeah, possibly Cantonese, but he said, "I'm not Chinese."
Cantonese is a minority in China.
Hasn't anyone thought of him having Russian (unlikely) or Afghan (since he stayed there for so long, kinda like "kashim") "Citizenship"?

Maybe the dead guy knew too much.
(And yes, I know Cantonese = Dialect Group, not race.)
Yeah, following his little flashback, I thought Cambodian was a possibility too. I'd expect him to be a product of a location full of strife and bloodshed; some of these options (like Afghanistan, but it's a huge coincidence) fit the bill, I'd say, although he could have been born anywhere and picked up the habit of killing along the way.
As for nationality, I've always seen Gauron as a "citizen of the world", so it didn't matter much. I doubt any country would be proud to have him anyway.

They sure would be proud to have him in their military though. If I was hard pressed on this subject, I believe him as Cambodian more than anything else. But my real belief is that he's just part of the nationality of "Evil."
