If Zac Efron really is allowed to play Sousuke, I may have to hurt myself . . . or him. No, definitely him. That would be a lot more satisfying.

I'm scared.

Actually I don't mind ..

If this leads to more revenue they might consider to translate more material.
But I thought Aprils fool was long over?

Maybe, just maybe, if the movie does well, then perhaps we will see renewed interest in a 4th season?

You are very optimistic person indeed. Look what they did with Dragon Ball... They fsckd up one of the easiests movie to make. What do you think will they do with FMP?...

FMP aint the only thing going LA.. Cowboy Bebop (Keanu Reeves) and Ninja Scroll (leonardo decaprio) are also on the books..
The president of Sunrise, Kenji Uchida, had previously announced at the Tokyo International Anime Fair that the deciding factor to go ahead with the 20th Century Fox live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop was the casting of Keanu Reeves. Reeves made two visits to the studio to express his interest in the project which Uchida states was what made the deal go through. Interestingly enough Uchida noted that negotiations between the two companies went on for two years until it was agreed upon that Sunrise assert quality control. His exact words were, “If the script is terrible, the live-action film adaptation will not be approved.” Perhaps the film will exclude Reeves’ popular “I know kung fu” and “Woah” quotes.
Leonardo DiCaprio is considering casting SMAP as the Ninja Scroll live-action feature film adaptation’s main cast. It was announced last year that DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way had picked up the rights for the film. DiCaprio expressed that he wanted to make all the fans of the original film happy and to make sure that they put their best effort into the making of the film. At least Ninja Scroll sounds like it’s in “good hands,” but Leo just doesn’t come off as someone who’d be into anime.

Aww come on .. Spike didn't exactly had a Shakespearian dialog in the series so that shouldn't be a problem.
Besides it would be cool to see Reeves with a "afro" but the bigger question would be ... who plays Faye? .. :)

Reeves as Spike... Well, he had learned some kung-fu and has a little bit Asian looks... might not be THAT bad... But yeah, Tau had a good question xD

I hear that DBZ evolution had the worst opening weekend?
One might wonder if this will influence the producers.
So what's in the pipeline :
-Battle angel Alita, Cameron has the rights if there is one who can make it work it's him (Terminator experience)
-EVA got canceled .. Probably because the male actors refused to wear plugsuits.
-Ghost in the Shell .. Who can play Kusanagi?
-Initial D The Koreans screwed it up due to the lack of budget.

I do think that FM*P has a better chance than EVA .. (No groin crushing plugsuits.) :)

And Blood is about to be realeased, but it's done by Japanese...

Ah, man. I don't know whether to be happy or cry that they want to make film adaptations of anime series...

I had no idea who Zac Efron is, so I had to Google the name. Not encouraging...

On the one hand it is nice that anime is getting some "mainstream" support.

On the other, one has to wonder how badly Hollyweird is going to screw things up. Ghost in the Shell with Speilberg's group could be another "great effects, lousy acting" ventures as was "War of the Worlds." It makes me queasy to think of Tom Cruise playing Bato or Togusa.

Keanu as Spike? Maybe if they let Steven Blum loop his dialog.

And, while I know it is not anime in the strict sense, I really enjoyed the animated Avatar series, which is now under production with "I Haven't Made a Good Movie Since 6th Sense" Shyamalan at the helm. Yeesh...

Oh dear god... :-o On the one hand I think the premise would work really well in an Amiercan high school but on the other I don't think it would be anything like the FMP I love and Zac Efron? Really?? I guess he has the hair for it...

I'd much rather have a feature length animated movie.
