Chapter 1
Drafted Winds!...
Misty, ash grey clouds crept along the horizon. The night slowly crawling behind. A cold wind raced through the streets of Tokyo, dim streetlights flickering as the sound of thunder rolled across the sky. Nights like these encourage the lowest of scum to surface from the underworld, from back alley to roof tops.
Under a dim, flickering light, a man with dark red hair was leaning against the wall. The man fell to the ground crippled in pain. His left arm was severed at the elbow, blood spewing from the open wound.
“I can’t believe that bastard attacked me!” He clutched what was left of his arm. His vision blurred as he stared down the darkened alley. A flash of silver caught his eye. The sound of metal dragging echoed through the alley. The man’s eyes widened and he hissed, “You...”
A tall man stepped into the flickering light, his hair as silver as the blade of his katana. The man laughed as he saw what had become of the injured man. “So, how does it feel?” he inquired with a smirk.
The man with the red hair glared in disgust at his unwelcome visitor. With his blood spreading across the ground, he ground out defiantly, “Like shit!”
Using the wall to balance, the man stood to face the other and as their eyes met, a fire began to glow in the eyes of the man to match the color of his hair. “Why in the hell did you attack me? Why did you do this?” he demanded.
The man that semi-cloaked in the darkness merely laughed. “Because it was fun!”
He caressed the hilt of his katana, “It wasn’t much of a challenge though. Truly, it was a waste of my time.”
As if he had all the time in the world, he raised the blood stained blade to the base of the crippled man’s throat. “What will you do now? How will you escape this hell?” A hint of irritation in the man’s voice, “What now, Eitoku!?”
The rain began to pound the earth below it. Eitoku coughed and then spit a glob of saliva and blood at the feet of his attacker. “Screw you, bitch!” he snarled.
A wicked grin flickered across the attacker’s face. “Have it your way.”
With a quick slash, Eitoku’s throat was slit. Blood spewed from the gash covering the walls with a fresh coat of red. The assassin laughed as the motionless body fell like a rag doll. “One less threat to be concerned with.”
The man pulled a small white cloth from his trench coat. “Next," he said wiping the blood from his katana.
A quick blast of wind swept the sliver hair out of the man’s face, his eyes glowing in the darkness. “No one escapes my blade!”
As the rain continued to fall, the assassin exited the alley, leaving behind the lifeless corpse of Eitoku.
A grin spread across his lips as the rain-washed away the blood from his body. “We will meet soon Kanjiro!” A maniacal laugh echoed through the blood stained rain and chilling winds.
Not long after the assassin left, the police arrived on the scene to find a message left in blood:
“One more gone, the rest will fall!”

Reports of a savage murder made the news in the days to follow. The stories attracted many types of people. Detectives, psychics, religious officials, and many more types of people showed up in Tokyo to work on this case. There were many signs that pointed to a supernatural or religious connections. Other people considered it to just be another typical murder case, the note left in blood was just a calling card for a serial killer.
A cloaked figure was also pulled to Tokyo for he too was interested in this incident. The wind picked up along an old road leading to Tokyo. The overcast skies left an ominous atmosphere surrounding Tokyo. The cloaked figure’s eyes were shaded by his silver and black bangs. He stopped in the middle of the road and looked to the clouded sky. “One by one the heirs to the spiritual powers are dying.”
A loud voice cut through the rustling winds catching the cloaked figure’s attention. "Kanjiro! Yo, Kanjiro! Wait up!" The cloaked figure looked back to see a rather tall man running towards him. The man was sturdy in build, and had spiky black hair. The cloaked figure looked rather annoyed.
"Why wont you leave me alone like I asked you to, Anzai?" Kanjiro frowned, his eyes still shrouded by the dangling bangs. He gripped the hilt of his katana while turning back towards Tokyo.
Anzai grinned. "Come on, man. we're training buddies! Besides, you promised me we would head to Tokyo together. Kanjiro relaxed a little.
"I said nothing of the sort. I informed you I was heading to Tokyo, and told you not to follow me. Since you are here, it appears you did not comply." The cloaked figure, Kanjiro, was walking away from Anzai. "Listen well, Anzai. I do not want to kill you, but if I must I will."
As Kanjiro was walking away, the wind picked up, and rain started falling. Kanjiro's hand moved to his Katana handle. "It seems a storm will blow through tonight." Kanjiro stared at Tokyo City. "It begins here..." Kanjiro continued down the lone, darkened path, the wind picking up debris and dust.
************************************************************************
Like the night before, the darkness had stealthily pounced the daytime, sending the city of Tokyo into a dark, and rainy night. Young couples dates had been interrupted by the sudden onslaught of the pouring rain, but one couple in particular seemed not to care about the sudden weather change.
As the rain continued to pour the couple continued to stroll down the busy Tokyo streets. Their conversation spreading across time and space. A young woman, probably in her teen years, had her arms interlocked with a young man, probably around the same age. The girl had long, silky pink hair, her eyes as golden as the sun itself. Her body was built like an angels. She seemed to be enjoying her time with her date, a young man with rough features, and hanging red hair.
They reached a flower shop when out of the blue the young man asked the girl about her past. “Come to think of it, why did your family move here, to Tokyo?”
The girl held his arm, “it’s a long story.” She sighed and frowned, “we left for Tokyo shortly after there was a murder in my hometown.” The girl looked to the sky, straight into the darkened clouds. “My friend, Kanjiro-kun, left town shortly after the murder. His uncle was the victim, they found the body in the river near by the town.”
Her date sighed, “the poor guy. So how old was he when he left anyways?” He caught a glimpse of the girl’s face as he asked his question. A few tears clung to her eyes, one slide down her cheek and plummeted to the ground, just like the rain.
“He was only ten when he left.” She wiped away a few tears and continued, “he left to get stronger, so he could stop people from getting hurt like he did.”
A smile spread across the young man’s lips, “noble guy.”
More tears began to spill from the girl’s eyes, “we were good friends, and I even kissed him. I told him I loved him the day before he left. All he did was smile and say, “Thank you, please forget me,” but I couldn’t! I couldn’t forget him Tojiro-kun!”
Tojiro held the girl tightly as she cried into his chest, his shirt muffling out the sounds of soft whimpers. “There, there Risa-san.” He caressed her head, trying to comfort her. “This guy, Kanjiro, he must have had his reasons. I’m sure he would be sad if he saw you like this.” Tojiro smiled when he saw Risa brighten up a bit, she tried to smile at Tojiro.
“You know, you remind me of him. Except you have more muscles Tojiro-kun!”
Tojiro smiled, “when are you going to drop the Kun and start calling me Toji-chan?”
Risa grinned, “when we kiss.”
“When’s that gonna be?” Tojiro frowned when he heard Risa’s answer.
“Some day, maybe.” She was giggling at Tojiro’s mixture of emotional expressions. “Maybe tonig.... Whoa!?” Risa and Tojiro were both knocked off balance when a stranger in a dark brown cloak bumped into them. The figure spun around quickly and caught Risa before she hit the ground. Risa stared at the cloaked man, taking in what little features she could make out. For a moment she thought that he looked familiar, but then she quickly dismissed that thought and stood on her own two feet again.
Tojiro was not so passive. He quickly rushed the cloaked man, sending a knock out punch to the man’s cheek. “Hey jerk! You better apologize for hitting us!” Tojiro jumped back a bit in shock that the man he had punched wasn’t even fazed by the hit.
The cloaked figure remained silent.
“Asshole!” Tojiro sent another punch in the direction of the cloaked man but missed. “You bastard, wha...!?” Without noticing the man’s movements, Tojiro now found himself in a life or death situation. The man now held a katana to Tojiro’s throat, Tojiro thought to himself, ‘how could someone move that fast?’
“I can move a lot faster!” The cloaked figure sheathed his katana and stepped away from Tojiro and Risa. “I have no tolerance for street trash!” He hid his katana with in the cloak from where it came. “I have more important things to deal with then some street punk fussing over a little bump.”
As the man began to walk away Tojiro grabbed his cloak in a mad rage. “Now let’s see what you really look like bastard!!” The cloak fell from the man it covered to reveal a young man who looked no older then Tojiro or Risa. His hair was a little messy, his eyes covered by long silver bangs. Piercing silver eyes met the frightened eyes of Tojiro. By now, a group had gathered to watch the “fight!”
A group of girls watching the ongoing situation melted when they saw the man. His body was well toned, nicely tanned skin, a few scars on his arms. He was wearing a black shirt with black baggy pants. The rain soaked his clothes causing his shirt to outline his muscles, which made the flirtatious girls melt even more. A few girls squealed in delight and shouted, “oh my god, he’s so cute!!”
Tojiro grinned, he noticed that the man that stood before him was smaller in size then he was. He summed up all his courage and spat out, “hey punk, I want to know the name of the man who will have the pleasure of an ass whooping, courtesy Tojiro Sekihara!”
Risa just stood there, frozen. She couldn’t believe whom she was seeing. A thought crossed her mind, she thought that the man that Tojiro was about to fight was Kanjiro!
As she continued to stare at the man Tojiro hoped in front of her. “Don’t worry baby! Tojiro will protect you from this asshole!” He then thrust his fist into the air then point straight at Kanjiro, and shouted with anger in his voice. “Ok, now tell us who the hell you are punk!”
“My name is...” The stranger’s hand moved towards the hilt of his katana, “my name is Teshima Kanjiro!” And with that, Kanjiro disappeared. Tojiro was then hit from behind with a sheath. Tojiro was sent flying into a near by building. “You have no chance against me.” He disappeared again, reappearing right next to Tojiro. Kanjiro picked Tojiro up by the collar of his shirt and tossed him back over to where the fight had begun.
Risa was too fixated on Kanjiro to even notice the beating her boyfriend was taking. “Is that really you Kanjiro-kun?”
Kanjiro slid to a halt in front of Risa, then began to observe her. “Do I know you miss?”
Clenching her fist, Risa shouted at Kanjiro. “You idiot! It’s me Amori, Risa Amori from Eishito!” She then grabbed Kanjiro’s hands and began to cry. “We were friends before you left!”
The young man sighed, “I’m sorry Miss Amori. I do not remember you.” Those words had nearly killed Risa’s spirit, she had longed to see Kanjiro again, and when she finally did he couldn’t even remember her.
Kanjiro then avoids an onslaught of punches thrown by Tojiro, “sir, I believe I informed you that you do not stand a chance against me!” He then sends an uppercut to Tojiro’s jaw, sending the boy flying through the air. “Have it your way then, foolish street trash!” Kanjiro unsheathed his katana, surges of electricity ran through the blade. The katana began to turn blue, “I will not be stopped by street trash like you!”
Out of a pile of debris Tojiro emerged. “I told you,” his voice boomed louder and more furious then before, “I’m not street trash!!” He raced towards Kanjiro with both fist raised, ready to attack the katana-wielding boy. “Wha...”
Just then, a certain pink haired girl interrupted the fight with a bad attitude at the moment. Risa grabbed Tojiro by the shirt collar and threw him against the flower shop’s wall. She then charged Kanjiro and slipped him into a headlock. “I can’t believe you forgot me! I told you that I loved you the day before you left to go training! I finally see you again and you have forgotten me! We’ll just see about that! I’ll beat the memories out of you, huh...?”
With ease, Kanjiro slipped out of Risa’s headlock and dusted himself off. He sheathed his katana and turned towards Risa. “Miss Amori... I am sorry that I have no memories of you. The truth is that all of my memories from years previous to age ten are gone. I remember nothing of my past, my life before this hell that I live.” Kanjiro then turn around and looked up towards the sky, letting the rain hit his face with a pitter-patter.
He turned back to Risa, “but one day I will remember my past, and when that day comes...” He walked over to Risa and handed her his cloak, “when that day comes, I will come back to you.” Kanjiro turned back to his original path and began to slowly walk away, “maybe then I will be able to feel something other than pain.”
Risa just stared in wonderment as Kanjiro walked down the street. “That cloak should provide you with adequate cover from the rain.” He turned back to Risa, “I want you to be here with me, when I remember my past.”
By now the crowd had dissolved. The police were investigating the scene, but no one seemed to want to get involved. Risa is left with an ache in her heart as she watches the only boy she ever truly loved walk away from her again. What hurt more was the fact that he failed to remember her, failed to remember the place that they shared together.
************************************************************************
The next morning Kanjiro sat on the rooftop of a near by school. He sighs when he sees all the students arriving at the school. “This school is where my search begins eh!?” With a glance over at the school’s large clock he realizes what time it is. “It’s only seven now,” he then stares at the students below, “and I wonder how many of them have the ability to connect with the spirits? I wonder how may can actually harness that power?” Kanjiro then hears a girl scream, it’s to far off for the other students to notice it. Kanjiro glanced over and saw a group of six boys huddled around one girl.
There were six boys in total.
Kanjiro heard one of the boy’s laugh. “Hey lil missy, what cha doing here with out a mate? Pretty lil thing like you shouldn’t be alone!” He was very well built, must have been on one of the sports teams. His hair was bleached and streaked with blue, his uniform clung to his figure. The boy picked the girl up with a wicked smile.
Another boy spoke up. “That’s for sure!” This one was a bit smaller than the first boy was. He had purple hair, a bit messy. He didn’t have the muscular capacity that the first boy did, and his uniform seemed to big for him.
The girl scream, “please leave me alone!” She had short hair, it stopped around the base pf her face. Her light brown hair flow elegantly, her hazel eyes staring at the boys. The uniform she wore clung to her, complimenting her figure.
“Now, now! We can’t have a pretty girl like you graduate with out knowing a mans touch!” Another boy grabbed the frightened girl by the wrist, the look he had sent chills through out the girl. His hair was light green, spiked up, an average looking street punk. He took out his knife and cut her shirt open to reveal a black silk bra.
The girl screamed in protest, “no, stop! Someone help me, he...” Her sentence was cut off by the same boy who had cut her shirt open.
He grinned, “we don’t want any trouble little Kazumi!” The man kissed the girls cheek and smiled. She, however, didn’t have the same response. The girl continuously tried to wiggle free from the boy’s grip. The boy then slapped her, “bitch! You just sit there all nice and quiet and enjoy our little gift.” Some of the boys began to unzip their pants, that’s when Kanjiro decided to interfere.
“You men are pathetic!” The intruding voice halted the gang from continuing on with their exploits. One by one the boys frantically searched for the person who had interfered with their deed. “I can no longer allow such a dishonorable act to continue!” At that moment the entire gang and the girl looked towards the roof to see Kanjiro standing at the edge. Kanjiro then leaped from the roof and landed near the gang, he quietly walked over to the girl. Kneeling down he handed her his uniform’s jacket. “You will be alright Miss.”
After recovering from the shock one of the boys grew cocky. “You wanna die punk ass!”
The boys grew furious when Kanjiro didn’t respond.
“Don’t just stand there bitch, fight us!!” Again there was no response from Kanjiro. He just stood between the girl he was protecting and the gang he was about to fight.
Another boy grinned and shouted, “why don’t you say something, have you already pissed your pants?”
Kanjiro stepped forward, the boys then took notice of the katana at Kanjiro’s side. His hand moved towards the hilt of the katana, his eyes staring straight ahead at the gang of boys that stand before him. “You fools are not worth my time!” He then glances at the girl he was now protecting. “However, your actions against this girl cannot go unpunished! The terror you have put this girl through can never be forgiven, and for that I shall bring justice!”
A bunch of the boys grinned when they heard Kanjiro speak. The muscular boy then spoke up, “ok mister samurai!”
At that moment all the boys rushed Kanjiro with fist raised, ready to attack. “Die you bastard!”
Kanjiro then unsheathed his katana, “this is the end for you!” With lightning speed Kanjiro unleashed a series of attacks that even the most skilled swordsman would have a hard time following. One of his attacks hit three of his attackers, sending them flying into the bushes. A horizontal slash sent two more boys flying away. With one more attack, a vertical upwards slash, the last fighter was sent flying into the school.
With out saying a word, Kanjiro sheathed his katana then approached the trembling girl. “You are safe now Miss.” He offered her his hand.
The girl grasped his hand and pulled herself up. “Th-thank you.” She blushed when she saw Kanjiro’s face, and the fact that he saved her with no incentive didn’t help. She was starting to develop a crush on this boy.
“Don’t worry.” Kanjiro observed the girl, a mark on the girl’s wrist caught his attention. “Tha...”
Just as Kanjiro was about to ask the girl about that marking the school bell rang. Suddenly alarmed by the bell, the female student jumped. “Oh my, school is starting, we better get to class!” Running towards the school facilities, the girl waved back to Kanjiro, “thank you!”
Kanjiro waved back, but remembered the mark on the girl’s right wrist. He thought to himself, ‘could she be one of the chosen?’ Noticing a large group of students, Kanjiro leapt into the dense forest behind him.
After the crowd had passed, Kanjiro walked out of the dense forest that was located behind the school. Then, hearing a loud female voice echo from behind him, Kanjiro turned to see whom it was. “Kanjiro-kuuuuuunnnn!!” Running from then entrance to the school campus, Risa was waving to Kanjiro.
“Hello Miss Amori, are you attending this school also?”
Risa nodded, “yeah, I just enrolled here before the summer break!” Risa’s eyes quickly mapped out Kanjiro, he was wearing the boys uniform for the school. “Kanjiro-kun, your attending this school too!!” She shouted ecstatically. Risa grabbed Kanjiro’s hand and pulled him in the direction of the school, “we better hurry! We don’t want to be late.”
When they had made it to the building Risa turned towards Kanjiro. “Hey Kanjiro-kun. What’s your homeroom?”
Kanjiro answered softly, “2-2.”
“What!!” Risa shouted, “your in my class, but your two years older then I am Kanjiro-kun!”
“I have not attended school. They had me take a test, I did well for my age. They decided to place me with the second year students to get me up to par with the school environment.”
Risa smirked, “well ok! Then lets hurry!” Pink haired Risa dashed towards room 2-2 with Kanjiro close behind her.
The classroom was full with thriving young students when Kanjiro and Risa had made it in. Kanjiro waited at the door, insisting that he get acquainted with the teacher before meeting the class. Risa sighed and entered the class.
After greeting her friends, Risa sat down in her assigned seat. The bell had already rang signaling that school had officially begun, the class anxiously awaited their teacher’s arrival. The chatter in the class continued when a soft voice floated through the room, “good morning class.”
“Good morning Teacher!” The class said in unison.
The teacher was a beautiful blond woman from the U.S. who had learned Japanese in high school, and mastered it in college. She also became a certified teacher and, because of her love for Japan, decided to teach here. “Well class, today we have a new student joining us. He may act strange, but seeing as he hasn’t attended school for the past seven years, we will let that slide for now.”
Kanjiro stepped into the classroom, then turned to face the class. Again the teacher made her presence know, and with a smile, began to explain some things to Kanjiro. “Yes teacher. I shall not disrupt any of your provided lessons.”
The teacher smiled, “well, seems like your more disciplined than most of my current students.” She sent the class a wicked glare, accompanied by a crooked grin. “Well, seeing as you and I have the formalities out of the way. Please introduce yourself to the class.”
Kanjiro remained silent. He noted a few of the girls speaking about him. “He’s so cute.”
“I know, lets see if one of us can snag him!” The girls were whispering of course.
The teacher sighed, “Come on, introduce yourself.”
Kanjiro turned the teacher, “fine...” He turned back to the class, “my name...” The sounds of shuffling echoed through out the class. Desk were moving closer to the front, the sounds of low pitched whispering grew louder and louder. Kanjiro sighed, “my name is of no importance to you.”
“Awwww!” The class seemed disappointed that Kanjiro did not deem them worthy of knowing his name.
Suddenly Risa jumped up and shouted, “aww come on Kanjiro-kun!! We’re all friends here.” She had a wicked grin plastered to her face, the sounds of whispering continued.
A loud voice shattered the settling silence as the door swung open. “God damn that guy hit hard.” Tojiro had entered the classroom, slowly he made his way over to Risa. He had his right arm in a sling, a load of bruises, and some bandages wrapped around his head. “Next time I see that guy, I’m going to...” Tojiro looked around him noticing that the class was unusually quiet today. “What’s up today, did someone die??” Turning around he caught sight of the man who had caused him to many injuries. He jumped in shock, “i-it-it’s you!!” Pointing at Kanjiro, he slowly slid to the back of the room. “What the hell! Who let this maniac in here!”
Kanjiro grinned, “street trash...”

Well this is the translation from script to story. Kashim did most of the editing while it was in script format, and he did the whole Anzai Kanjiro scene. I just added a bit in to make it more detailed (I hope)
This isn't everything we have for the script, this is just the part translated to story format.
Hope you enjoyed what's here, since this is better done than the script format stuff.

I knew someone would get a kick out of that.
Yeah, I'll be sending you chap 2 soon!
Gonna give Esyla some time to take in the story before busting out some crazy story continuations. I'm having a good feeling about this, hope it's not premature.
Well, this will be updated and edited, plus I need to get the rest of chapter one in story format! But so far so good I hope!
