[Fic] Genisis (si-fi)

Post by Esyla »

The tension was so thick in the room that you could cut it with a knife. Matthew could hardly breath the tension was so bad. Maybe this feeling was being made –perhaps by a machine. “They can do that; they can do any thing,” Matthew’s thoughts rang. The courtroom was a buzz with sound. Matthew was not really the one who was in deep trouble. He was only there for helping her, Genesis. Matthew looked at his own hands in the handcuffs and then up at Genesis. Genesis looked like an animal stuck in a cage, but that’s exactly what she was. Genesis’s pupils were changing from round to slits repeatedly, faster than Matthew could change channels on the television. Her K-nines seemed to be growing larger by the second.

“Are you doing okay?” Matthew leaned over and asked. Genesis had never lost control this bad in all the time he had known her.

“No. My programming is trying to over ride me.” Genesis said sternly. Then she looked over to the men in the back of the courtroom. “They are waiting for it to fully over ride me. That’s what they all want.” Genesis motioned to all the people in the room. The humans were sitting toward the front while the non-humans stuck to the back. “They are waiting for me to break down. When I break down they will come and take me back. They might put me back in The War or they might kill me. I’m not sure yet.” Genesis growled as her nails extended and then retracted. It looked as if Genesis really might lose control and if she did, Matthew didn’t want to see it. A loud bang came from the front of the room. The judge and the so-called jury walked in. Matthew knew better, this whole thing was rigged. Just an added addition to The War, a new way to sell tickets. Then it began.

“I am sure you are all familiar with the history of The War. But I would like to jog your memories. In the year 3010 the governments of all the planets in the Milky way that contain life came together to deiced on a solution for the controlling space. I was decided that a diplomatic solution was not possible. So The War was created. In The War each planet is allowed five fighters. The planet is also allowed to use al the technology and resources to create these fighters. Genetic technology was highly suggested. The War soon became a universal entertainment hit. But this is nothing I need to tell you.” The man spoke as he paced in front of the so-called jury. He was dressed just like nine other men in the room, meaning only one thing. This man worked for the government.

“Most of the time the fighters were created at the fetus stage. Being genetically altered to be extreme fighting forces as soon as they had basic skills. But in recent year our government was experimenting with taking 10 year olds that showed great potential and altering them then. Genesis here is the latest model of this experimenting. Genesis, as I am sure you have seen, was the most effective fighter this planet had had to date. That is until she escaped of course. Thanks to her…” There was a pause in his speech as this man turned to look Genesis in the eyes. “Abilities Earth has become the third most powerful planet in the Milky way.” Matthew could see what he was trying to do. This man wanted Genesis to fry her motherboard, snap crackle and pop, then exposing her other side. Matthew wouldn’t let it happen. Matthew put his hand on Genesis, the gaze between the two was broken and Genesis gave a gasp almost as if she had been holding her breath.

“All of us have seen what this girl is capable of. We have all seen her demolish packs of enemies in seconds. We have seen her use those fangs of hers-very effectively. So six months ago when she escaped from The War naturally most people were worried about what she might do. Then she starts popping up in weird places with this boy.” He welled around and pointed at Matthew. It was like a thousand hot lamps and lazars had been pointed at him, each and every one of them looking right through him. “Then these two start trying to bring down the government. So before you go the make your dissociation on the fate of these two unlikely criminals remember what you are protecting. With what you have seen on The War, do you really trust some thing like that to ever live a normal life?” The man sneered at Genesis. Smack! Genesis was standing up panting looking furious. Her angry spreading like a virus forcing her thoughts to be over ridden and her programming to kick in. Her nails became claws and her teeth became fangs.

“Go ahead Genesis, get angry, and let your programming over ride. Show the world and the whole Milky way that you are a monster that only knows how to kill.” This man was really pushing it.

“Sit down.” Matthew said through clenched teeth. Matthew pulled Genesis back into her seat when the judge slammed his hammer.

“That will do Mr. Livede. You have made your closing statements. Normally at this time the defense would come up and give their closing statements. But as there is no to represent the defendants the court will now recess for the jury to make their choice.” The judge and the jury then left. Genesis and Matthew were ripped from their seats and then hurled down several hallways. The guards threw them into their cell.

“That didn’t go so well.” Genesis said as she extended her nails and picked the lock on her handcuffs. “That man, Mr. Livede, he works for The War. He was trying to make me lose control.” Genesis punched the wall and the room shook with her force. Matthew took a seat on the bottom bunk bed.

“So, what are we going to do about it?” Matthew asked. Genesis was the brains and the brute force of the operation. Matthew figured out the finer details.

“We are not going to do anything.” Genesis scaled the wall and was now sitting on the ceiling. “I don’t want you getting into more trouble. Besides I was programmed to be a loner. I will work better on my own.” Genesis replied, she now hung from the top bunk upside down. Genesis gave Matthew a good stare in the eyes to make sure that he understood.

“What can you pick up on what the jury is up to?” Matthew asked trying to change the subject. Besides he really wanted to know what was going to happen. Genesis closed her eyes and wiggled her pointy ears in concentration.

“I can’t pick up the exact words, but from what I can hear,” Genesis broke off as she opened her eyes. “Things are looking up for you. On the other hand I’m in the hole and then some.” Genesis swung herself back up onto the top bed. “Don’t worry even if I am convicted it’s not like they are going to be able to keep me here. I was programmed to be unstoppable, uncontainable, and think faster than a computer.” There was a pause, Matthew knew that Genesis hated ever second of this. “You should rest, your programming is not made for this kind of stress.”

“And what if I don’t feel in the mood for a nap?”

“Don’t push it. I might have to bite you.” Genesis joked.

“Go right ahead. Just us the fast acting stuff.”

“I have more than poison in my fangs. I just came up with a new substance. This one once injected will…” Genesis’s words faded away as Matthew feel into an uneasy sleep.

Matthew was thrown out of the bed by one of the guards.

“Get a move on. The men in the suits want to see you.” He said as he placed another pair of handcuffs on Genesis, looking slightly baffled. They were taken down to the basement of the building. On the way Matthew noticed he had bite marks on his wrists. Matthew gave Genesis a questioning look, Genesis simply smiled in return. Then they were shoved into the door at the very end of the last hallway.

Inside the room where ten men all dressed alike in suits, Mr. Livede sat at a desk in the center of the room. He had a truly evil look in his eyes. A single light hung above him, and a fuse box was on the left wall, other wise the room was completely empty.

“It goes like this, if you come back to The War we will drop all charges. We would also allow your little friend here to come along. He would either be reprogrammed or stay in the maintenance area where he would be useful.” Mr. Livede cackled.

“I don’t want to be reprogrammed.” Interjected Matthew.

“Fine then, you can become a permanent mechanic on The War. We are also willing to improve your living condition. The government is willing to lessen the punishment for failure. So as you can tell we really don’t want to let you go. We will make many changes to out system to get you back on out team. What do you say?” His words were like oil, sliding down Matthew hears. Matthew didn’t like the words or the feeling that they gave him.

“So that’s what this is all about?” Genesis looked very menacing even wearing handcuffs. “You want me to come to you War. In your dreams.”

What happened next would leave Matthew in awe for year to come. As Genesis said those words her handcuffs fell to the floor as if they were paper. Matthew thought he saw her head for the fuse box, but before Matthew was sure the lights were out and he was alone in the darkness, well almost alone. Matthew heard several grunts and a few sounds of a struggle. The lights flickered back on.

Matthew surveyed the damage; out of the original ten men in the room only one was still looking fully alive and not completely broken. From what Matthew could tell at least five of them were dead, the other simply badly injured. Mr. Livede had taken a few blows to the head and blood was now streaming down his face.

“Where is she going?” He demanded as he stumbled towards Matthew.

No reply.

“I asked you a question, boy. What is your programming disfunctioning or some thing? Answer me I say!” Mr. Livede screamed as he shook Matthew violently by the shoulders.

Matthew felt his pupils turn to slits. Fangs were tugging at his lower lip to move. Matthews’s old programming shut off and the new pirated programming took full control of his body.

“It has begun.” Was his only reply.

“What, what has begun?” Mr. Livede screamed in rage.

“The begging of progress.” These were the last words Mr. Livede heard. The poison kicked in and the last thing he saw was a male form of his worst mistake standing over him laughing.

It's not FMP! related, but all is welcome here! :-D Is it based off the
stuff you were doing in The Letter Game, by any chance? Hoping there's
more!

no its based of the idea of genetic testing

sorry its a stand alone. my teacher made me cut it down alot to turn it in for a paper. but i can do more.

but i can only write one story at a time. so the question is: which would you like to read more about? the gang story that is related to fmp? or a story that i wrote for no reason what so ever that has nothing to do with this site?

News for any one who read this and liked it.
I am working on turning it into a book.
I wrote the first part of the story.
as in when you are introduced to the characters and such.
but once again that part had to be written as a stand alone.
*grumble*
evil english teachers.
but for my next paper i am hoping to write the middle part of the story and then combine it for the final time.
just thought i would inform.
becuase as soon as i find the first part i am posting it.
