Very good.

Totally unnecessary comments... will the irides/corneas be inked?

Stylistic point, that also has no need for adjustment: adding any blood? On Kaname's hand (if she touched own wound before going unconscious), anywhere on her clothing, or Sousuke's hand or clothing.

Which of the other scenes did you choose to sketch?

OMG!!! It looks like a page from an manga!!!

Complete with shading and texturing!!! And a nasty wound. *cowers in the corner*

Um.... ??? I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean shading his eyes in the main frame? Do you think it looks weird? I wasn't planning on adding anything else to his eyes - usually in Tateo's drawings when Sousuke's going through something intense his irises are outlined and his pupils are drawn as points, like so...

Well, I tried to show Kaname's blood running down Sousuke's arm that's under her shoulder, but it kind of blends in with her hair..... Same with the blood stains on her shirt in both the top frame and the main frame, they kind of blend in with the shadows. Hmmm.... I agree, there needs to be more blood, it's just not obvious enough........

I'll have to experiment with that.

Well, this is the first one! It's a REALLY rough sketch, but that's the basic idea. Based on this part of your story: "Sousuke reached his hand out to touch Kaname's shadowy face. 'I'm sorry, Kaname. You should be safe from those boys in the future. I doubt they will act that way again.' Kaname put her hand on Sousuke's. 'What happened to them...' "

so mushy.....

So! no need to comment yet, I'm off to try my had at a couple more and I'll be posting those soon as well. I'm thinking the first time they meet up again, Sousuke with his gun to Kaname's throat, or perhaps Sousuke in an apron. (and nothing else! ha!

......just kidding

) Or maybe I'll do some other wacky drawings I've been batting around in my head, those don't take too long and are always good for a laugh

Did you buy screen tone books? You've got me wanting to finish off a bunch of my drawings now. Just by looking at your stuff, I think you've helped me with some problems I've been having with them. Thankies.

Very VERY nice job on the finished piece. It's fun to see the difference between the inked and the screentoned. My eyes focus on different things in each. Not sure why...

hmmm.... Ah!! found the error, I had accidentally entered the links as .jpg when it should be .gif, should work now!

@Av - I've noticed that my webhost sometimes goes down for minutes at a time. If my signature images aren't showing up then that's unfortunately what's happened. However if my sig shows but a particular link doesn't then that's my fault. Sorry! Usually I check to make sure all the links work before I post, I guess I just missed that one. Anyway, enjoy!

Got the basic idea down for page one of Sousuke and Kaname's first face-to-face in three years. It's a little long for manga paper, so something will have to give vertically, but that's my basic idea. Page two will be the "money shot" of the two of them together. My idea is to draw it from an extreme low angle looking up at both of them, but I'm having lots and lots of difficulty figuring out just how to do that. I'm going to have to hunt around for something to use as reference, because right now when I *try* to draw their faces it ends up looking like the head of the white alien in Alien Resurrection(I am NOT kidding, it's awful) If I can't figure the pose out I'll abandon the exotic camera angle for something simpler, but I'm definitely going to try for the up angle since it gives so much weight to the scene.

*LOL* Hey, all I have to say is, you wrote it! But yeah, I think part of the reason I'm drawn to the mushy scenes is because they're easier to draw, it's so lazy.... No complicated action angles or tools like guns, little background because you want the character's emotions to be forefront... that kind of thing. Though it is sooooo cathartic to drawn S&K mush.... awwww......

Anyway, yeah, I'm trying not to take the lazy route all the time, it gets boring looking and drawing everything at the same angle, same size, etc, so I just need to hunt through my references for a bit.

Well, this isn't a chapter illustration, but it is inspired by something dd said in this thread -

I love the term, it's so approiate! Thus is born my 'lemon shark' mascot, the idea being basically "get to the good stuff!" (not really, I'm enjoying the story so far just fine

I kind of cheated a redraw on this picture. You can't tell online but my original sketch was maybe 6 inches tall, and I didn't want to redraw the thing to make it fill 10" high (the height of manga paper.) SO, I took my scan and resized it, then printed it out and used the printout to trace from. It worked really, really well, and that's definitely how I'm resizing anything in the future. Why redraw it myself when the computer can do it for me?

The shark on the front of her apron is an adaptation of the mascot from Deep Discount DVD, which not incidentally is where I bought my FMP dvds. They have seriously good prices and I've never had any problems ordering from them.

Anyway, it's a nice break from trying to work out the problems on other pictures. This one I'm not going to fill the black areas, I think I'd actually like to color it in sometime. Don't hold your breath guys, but I'll definitely post the colored pic if I do it. Enjoy!!

Well, I've finished the prelem sketch for another scene, and I did this fanservice sketch as kind of a break - I plan to ink her in but I'm kinda toasted right now

and I need to go to bed....

Hopefully no one will mind that I'm not including a thumbnail, but rather the whole picture. It's only 39k anyway, that's not much right?

Consider this your nosebleed warning! Not that it makes that much difference, since before you've read this sentence you've seen the picture.... mwahahaha....

If anyone has any doubts, there really are women who can bend their backs at 90 degree angles and greater, I have the photographic evidence as that's what I drew this from..... Oh yeah, and she started out as a nude, but we've already agreed that nudes are just boring right? So no need to see that sketch....

@regarding scenes

That drawing could be converted into the one where's she's all wet with her blouse clinging to her. I can picture Sousuke's face.

What have you sketched out?
