Tonight would be no different than the last two.

The kidnapping of two particular young women hit closer to home, effecting all of the crew of the TDD-1, and sending shockwaves throughout the entire Mithril family.

If he were successful, and was not caught at the center of a small scale nuclear holocaust, he would be returning home to find his girlfriend and Captain missing. Sufficient rescue activities may well be possible, even given the limited resources of the organization. As long as the adversary did not discover the method of tracking and subvert it for their own purposes.
The word 'rescue' may just be a euphemism, however. Circumstances may well necessitate a totally different outcome...if any one individual could not be retrieved alive, he or she would then need to be destroyed by whatever means was available. The wellfare of a small number of individuals did not outweigh the well-being of the entire globe.

Make a nice opponent while he lasts (which may not be long, or may be like his dad). There may or may not be a lie about shared kinship for Sousuke that will unsettle him some.
