Dear Jishin,
It’s been a while. I know that I have been slacking on keeping up. Can you blame me? Things haven’t been normal here for a while. I had another black out today. The kid who sits next to me in class freaked out. She is a real sissy, she has seen be pass out hundreds of times and still freaks out. Its not like I can help it.
School is not going so well for me. I keep having to leave and what not. Once again, not my fault. I am thinking of quiting. There is no way that I will ever use any of the stuff I learn there. All I need to know I am learning from Driver. It makes me so angry! That my parents don’t get it. I am not a normal girl! Never have been, never will be, so just let me get on with my training.
Driver thinks that soon I will be able to leave Layten for good. *Did you hear that every one, I will be ready to leave this blast country*!!! I am sick of living in a place that is for the unwanted. Who says we are unwanted? This whole planet is out of its mind. But if Driver is right then soon I will be able to go to space and use my training.
(and get rid of my darn blackouts).
I would love to tell you more about all the annoying things and what not that I have put up with since last time, but my mother will be getting home any second and I am “grounded”. Whatever, no one can out think the great Esyla!!!

Dear Esy-chan,
You're right it has been a long time. I was starting to worry, but I fully understand. These are hectic times we live in. Ever since the new comers came and united this world, quite forcebly if I do rember correctly. I am glad you were able to get into a program as fine as Driver's. I am assured their doctors will be able to cure your condition.
As you, I am also not faring well in my school... Since your last letter to me I have been conscripted by their galactic fleet and have been spending this past year at Fleet Academy. Every rumor you've heard about this wretched place is true. The rules are so strict. We never get to rest hear, oh sure we sleep; I just mean we have no free time besides that. If it’s not a lecture on the astrophysics of slip space, the have us running, and I don’t mean a kilometer or two. Its more like 30-40 kilometers. Which I still don’t get because, how much running are we going to need to do when we're on a ship. Honestly.
As I said, I've been here a year so I only have a few months to go before active duty. Sadly my request to be stationed on the Nariez research vessel was denied .I have been assigned Lieutenant Navigations Officer on the carrier Heizzkurata. They have already started my Training....... Remember when I said they were strict about the rules and they never give us free time? Well its past lights out and an instructor is checking the dorms, I gotta go!

Dear Jishin and Francis,

I have good news, no make that great news. I have completed my training! I now am a quantum! And yes, today I made matter! Driver was really excited. He turned in my application to join tech spacecraft some where out by the rings on Kingt. So now I am fully ready to go to space. I am one of the best techs out there. I know stats for most of the common mecha by heart. Driver thinks that I might be able to be an on board tech! That would be really cool, to be out there on the battle field. But not really of course, my heart would never let me fight, Driver said so.

Other good news, I didn’t black out today at all. Driver has been giving me some weird pill lately. I don’t think of it as being a big deal. This is Driver, the best tech and quantum this side of the universe. But he is getting old now. Tomorrow he will be 130, its crazy to think that that is average when you live on a planet. But up in space they can make it to 200, that is if you don’t get killed first.

My hair is longer now. I mean really long. I have no idea how though, when I made the fire (that was my choice of matter) my hair grew. Creepy. I know that being a quantum is a big deal and all but, gosh, no body warned me.

I left school yesterday. Nobody seemed to care. I can’t say that I cared either. I hardly knew any of them. Only one person seemed to care. I don’t remember his name but he was the one who always seemed to be the one to get me out of my black outs. He came over to me right before I left.
“Take care of your self up in space. I wont be there to bring you back if you fall.” Then he gave me this weird charm and walked away. I mean really I could not find him to say thanks. I’m keeping the charm for good measure. Its some kind of green crystal, I put it on my necklace, it matches my eyes really well. Now if only I could do something about this long brown horse main I have growing on my head.

Jishin- Sorry to hear that they are that strict. I guess that’s because you are an officer. I will only be a tech when I get up there; I hear that techs get it easy. At least I hope we do, I am not much of a runner. Heizzkurata? Where is it stationed? I think I have heard about it. No wait I looked at its stats the other day. It a big one that’s for sure. Not my personal favorite. Well good luck with your training.

I have to be going now. Driver and I are doing an all night matter practice. Exciting! I might not be able to type tomorrow but I will try. Tell you guys how tonight went.

good for the both of you, and I have some good news for you two:
tomorrow, I'll be returning to Tokyo after so long... I just need to find
a place to stay till I can find my own place. My flight arrives at Narita
at 1243pm, flt#421.

Must go now. We have much catching up to do tomorrow!

Francis- You cant know how good it is to hear from you. I had been sure that my emails were no longer reaching you. Its good to see that you are okay. So you are coming home to Tokyo, that is great. I have missed that city so much. I really wish that I could return and help you settle in. But as I am sure you remeber I am no longer allowed there with out permission and that could take years to get. And by that time i will be in space. I cant wait to hear what you have been up to. I am not sure if you have gotten all my letters but here is a quick over veiws of some of the things that have happened to me since I got your last email.
1. they figured out that what causes the black outs I have...they can not find( I could have told the docotors that).
2. they did figure out that I have the quantum powers
3. I was inrolled into Drivers school for the speacial talents
4. they think that the space sicentist might be able to sure me
5. I started to make matter
6. I leaft normal school to hammer down on quantum powers an being a tech
7. yesterday I created fire (thats a big thing since now my speacial will be fire)

Oh one more thing, Happy Birthday Me! Today I am 16!
Now for the other news, in two days I will leave Layten by plane and go to Tokyo to pick up some other techs. All of us will then be taken to some weird place (they wont tell me where) and get on a flight to the space base.
yes thats right, I was accepted.
I will be the newest tech on board QuisimLight. Its one of the advanced ones that has civilian and military on it. Although I am not told to which country or organization it belongs. I got the stats of the ship and mech on it last night in the mail while Driver and I were working.

Well I must be going now. I have a befieing in 20 minutes.

I am done my training! The best part is, I get a few days leave before the next military transport is ready. We should meet up in Tokyo! It would be great to see you guys. It might be a while for me to start sending mail again once I am station. It seems the Heizzkurata has been station on the outer-rim some sort of rebellion is forming there it looks like. Not really important. I can't wait to see you two!

I got off the flight, but I couldn't find any of
you guys. Oh well. Living cheaply out of a motel off the airport. Hey,
congradulations to you both. @Esyla you may want to make sure you
don't tell the wrong ppl about those powers of yours. I've heard rumors
about secret societies and Star Chamber groups that, well... makes even
my blood freeze to hear about it! Out in space now, huh? Maybe
when I nail down a job, I'll arrange for a ticket up. I haven't been in
space before.
@Jishin ya military brat you!

Just make sure you remember which
way to point the gun, and that you check the safety BEFORE you pull the
trigger

Must sleep now... jetlag's a killer, and those damned drugs they sell
to combat it aren't worth the plastic they're sealed in.

Dear Guys (I am feeling rather lazy today),

Well i just got back from my deberifing. I think I might be in over my head. The ship I am on is one of the top secret. (opps, guess I will have to kill you both now

) What I thought was civilan living places is where the scientist live. (well at least they can take a look at my condition.) I got a huge packet of seps of all the mech on board, boy am i going to have my hands full.

Speaking of my condition I have not had a black out in a few days. Amazing I know. Driver is completely stumped and so am I.

I would really love to see you both in Tokyo but I cant. Did both of you forget my family excile??? I am techanical not allowed back in Japan. Well thats not true, since my father was the one exciled I can get permission to go back. But it takes a long time to get that. Truth be told I am currently looking out my window at Tokyo.
Thats right they will not let me off the transport plane.

WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP THAT IS!
Its all my dad's fault. If he had just kept his mouth shut I would be able to get off this plane.

Francis- Dont worry. I will keep it a secret. But I am not the only one. There are alot more people who call them selves Quantums. But that is classified.

Jishin-So the training didnt kill you? (Lets hope I get the same results.) Be sure to give me the corrdinates of your new station. Just in case we are in the same system on one of my weeks off.

Well the other techs are getting back on now. Next time you guys hear from me, I will be in space!

Well here I am sitting at my navigational station, seventh hour of my 15th watch. Nothing not a one stupid misplace freighter in this system, seems even the captain doesn't think there much here or else I wouldn't be writing this. Owell enough about my boring duties.

Francis , you know my gun will always be aimed at you. *chuckle* Don't think I forgot how we solved that last argument.
Gah that really sucked we couldn't get together in Tokyo.. Stupid transport came early, Can you believe that! Esy, I can't believe they wouldn't let you off the plane, its been nearly 20 years since the incident, people need to learn to forgive and to forget.
Like I said I my ship is stationed on the outer rim right now so our dock is at Neo Hellos. Bit of a rundown station but it suffices. Though we won’t be back there for another week. My shift is almost over so I should.... Hold up something on the far range scanner doesn't look righ..........

If you do get this here are some updates.
My ship is not even in our system. I have no idea where it is because "I am unauthorized for that information." So I have no idea where I am. Another thing, there is no way that this base belongs to any country that I know of. It has been years since the United States had the power that it once had. Sure back a long time ago it could have built this but no way now. I am really scared. I think I might just be on one of those ghost ships that you hear about. The ones that are run by unknown people.

Something else. One of the large mecha pilots seems familiar to me. I can’t say but I think I have seen him before somewhere. I can’t really be sure because I only saw him for a second but I think, just maybe he lived in Layten. I know that is most unlikely.

I really can’t believe that I am in space. All my life my father had said that my talents would best be used in the space bases. But now that I am up here I think that, well, it is a different world. And nobody warned me.

I have to go now, there are some really giant mecha that need attention, and if I don’t fix them no one will. (I seem to be the main tech here. Looks like the other have no idea what they are doing. Its really weird.) Good new though because I am the most experienced I get my own cabin with a computer, intercom (so they can reach me when needed) and some other really cool tech! Well I have some bugs to remove and some screw to turn now.

Jishin, please be all right. I don’t know what I would do if you are gone.

Dear Francis
And Jishin if you are there,

Well we all know about my father and his exile and its after effects. Not to mention that when we moved my name was put in some kind of permanent bank of data. Because of this my name has to be changed in order for me to be able to get out a ports. (This is really getting old.) This morning at a meeting on my base my name was legally changed to:
Jamie Fox.
Yeah I know it’s a big change and what not but I can’t help it. It was a direct order or other.

Oh another new thing, because it takes up a lot of time for me to sit and type reports on mecha they have given me this really cool machine that types for me. It makes writing you guys a lot easier.

I really need to tell you guys some thing. I said last time that I thought I knew one of the pilots. Well turns out I know him very well, or at least as well as I would know him.

So last night I was doing some repairs and my necklace was getting in the way, so I took it off and set it on my tools tray. I was almost done when I had one of my black outs, which really freaked me out because I haven’t had them in so long. I had been working late so it was two hours before some one came and woke me (you know that I have to be woken up, I don’t get it up once I black out I cant get out on my own.). Imagine my surprise when I look up and I am staring face to face with the boy from my class. Yes, the pilot is the boy from my class that always wakes me up.

“I though I told you to be careful. Your lucky, I sure am trained at bringing you back.” It really was the kid from my class. He seemed to think this was funny. “Guess I should have known you would be on this ship, Driver said you were the best.” Now I was a little freaked out.

“Hold on just one second. What are you doing here? How do you know Driver? And for once can you please tell me what your name is? It would be good to know and all.” Trust me I didn’t waste time. I wanted some answers.

“First off I work and live here. I had a temporary stay on earth in order to spend time with Driver. The second question I cannot tell you, but if given authorization I will inform you. Third my name is Yuhi and that’s good for now. I must be getting back to my duties.” He started to walk away from me so I raced after and put myself between him and the door.

“No that is no good for now. Don’t you think that I am allowed some more questions?” I blocked his way so that he had to look me in the eye.

“Sure, but first put the necklace back on, you wont black out then.” He handed me my necklace with the green stone that he had given me. “Follow me if you want more information.”

When you first get this, I'm sure the first though thru your mind is 'What
the HECK happened to you?!' Well, the attached picture should give
you an idea. You see, I went around looking for work. I found this
place that seemed to have it all: good pay, easy work... cute boss even.
No one told me she had a temper to match. Don't ask me how -- I don't
even remember myself -- but after the interview, I woke up in the hospital
with a broken collar, 8 broken ribs, fractured hip, and a shattered femur...
and I didn't walk into traffic, I swear! Well, the boss apologized, though
she kept looking away when I asked what happened to me. I think I saw her blushing a bit...

Do you think I should show up for work on monday?

Been out of thew news loop -- supposedly I was out for 8 days straight --
so I have to catch up on that as well.

You're REALLY going to have to get maintenence on your comm arrays.
And yeah, I do remember how our last argument ended: it ended with
ME dragging YOUR butt out of the line of fire from some guy about to
drop you with a 9mm... if you think you could've ducked that, well
you were too drunk to remember his buddies were backing up him up
as well, with their own guns man! Never mind the cops were ready
to call in SWAT on us... I STILL get nightmares about that...

Hi guys,

Okay so to make a long story short I am on one of the rebellion ships. They are completely against everything that is going on down on earth. They have many people that work for them that live in Layten, Driver is one of them. Turns out that the whole time I was learning from him they knew and were ready to bring me up here to work for them. I guess I am some kind of big celebrity because of what my father said and did. I don’t really understand all this military ranks but this Yuhi guy is pretty far up, and I guess so I Driver. In fact Yuhi was also in Layten to learn form Driver.

Well basically now that I know this information they have to keep me in the inner circle of officers or something like that. I will now be an onboard techie. So now I get to go into battle, although I have no idea when that is. I really think that I have gotten my self in to deep trouble.

It also seems that they know about my black out problem and that the necklace they had Yuhi give me is suppose to cure me according to the doctor on board…..

Elsa, Francis,

A few weeks ago wile I was about to end my shift I had noted a slight anomaly in my far range scanners.. It was so far off, and then suddenly, the Heizzkurata wis in the middle of a rebel fleet, I have never even heard of ships that could jump so accurately. Let alone seen ships of this type before. Fleet Command made a huge mistake when they said this was a small rebellion... we lost all of out fighters in the ensuing battle.... as well as decks 33 to 71 in the aft section of the ship... the only reason the Heizzkurata even made it out at all is because we performed an emergency jump that landed us so far outside the outer rim it took as two weeks just to get back on normal power we lost allot of good people...allot of my friends... It is all out war now and the Heizz is heading off station very soon.

Francis, .... heh... you know how I get when I'm drunk.

Esy-chan, I will never forget that little girl none of us boys seemed to be able to beat at king of the hill when we were so young. I am sorry.
