Eden’s Song

Discloser: I do not own anything regarding the series or many products in the Full Metal Panic franchise.

Just to tell ya this story is based of the anime that has been translated in to English, not the second series.

Song 2: Storm of Hearts, Divine Moon

Darkness crept up the lonely street, no cars or people ventured down the way. Lightning flashed a rolled across the skyline as thunder accompanied the bright lights. The rain waltzed in an endless cycle, pounding the landscape below. Two people ran in to an apartment complex and up the stairs they went. Both of their clothes drenched and soggy, it seems the jackets and umbrella did not help.

The young man tugged at the door, finally he realized it was locked. “It seems Mao must have left. Wonder what she needed to do.” Sousuke pulled out a small key from his back pocket and placed it in to the keyhole. With a quick turn the door was locked no more, he opened the door to a quiet, dark room. He flipped the light switch and brought Kaname in, offering her a towel to dry herself.

She gave him a concerned look when she saw he had no towel and placed her hand upon his shoulder. “Hey Sousuke, you need the towel?”

The young soldier slowly shook his head, “no, that’s all right. I feel better like this, always reminds me of someone that was important to me.” He removed his shirt and threw it into the bathroom hamper. Grabbing a soda he sat down on the couch in the middle of the main living quarters. “Kaname, if you want you can take a shower, I’ll lend you a shirt and pants.”

She blushed when she saw Sousuke’s bare chest; she looked away so he wouldn’t notice. “Yea, um... Sure,” she looked up and smiled, “I think I will take a shower.” Kaname walked towards the bathroom and glanced back at Sousuke giving him a stern look. “If I catch you in here I’ll rip your head off.” Sousuke frowned; of course he wouldn’t enter the bathroom while it was being used.

About twenty minutes later Sousuke had a full meal prepared. Looking back at the bathroom door he patiently waited for Kaname to emerge from the bath. When she finally did she had a towel wrapped around her body. Kaname used another towel to dry her hair and then she gazed at Sousuke. “Sousuke...”

“The clothes are on the side table next to you.” He pointed to the right side of Kaname, and it seemed that the clothes were all there. “You can use my room if you want to change.”

“Thank you Sousuke.” She took the clothes and walked in to the next room, Sousuke just watched as Kaname hid herself behind another door. When she emerged from the room Sousuke was drinking some tea. She slid over to the table Sousuke was at and plopped down next to him. She surveyed the food that Sousuke a laid out for them to eat, it really looked good to her. Then she noticed that Sousuke had not eaten yet and smiled. “So Sousuke, are you going to eat?”

Sousuke picked up a fork and opened up his food, handing Kaname chopsticks. “I was waiting for you Kaname.” They smiled at each other and began to eat, the storm still pounding at the windows.

After a few minutes Kaname looked over at Sousuke, “how long has it been since we have seen each other Sousuke?”

Sousuke pondered in thought for a bit and then looked back at Kaname, “I think maybe about one year. I wonder how many changes have gone on here. How have you been Kaname?”

The blue haired girl sighed, “a little dull, nothing has happened to me ever since you left, not even bad things.” She looked up at Sousuke and noticed he was staring right at her, which took her by surprise. Looking back at her food she continued the conversation, “so Sousuke, how have things been at Mithril? How are you and Tessa doing?”

“What,” Kaname took Sousuke completely off guard with that question. “What do you mean about Tessa and me?”

“Kurtz told me he saw you two going to a movie together, I knew you liked her Sousuke.” Sousuke smiled, Kaname caught a glimpse of this and became infuriated. “Why are you smiling Sousuke?” Her voice echoed through the empty halls.

“Because, Kaname, I haven’t seen Tessa in over half a year.” He ate a little rice and looked over at Kaname, “plus I do not like her in that manner. She is more like my younger sister, in fact Tessa reminds me of my sister.”

Kaname stared at Sousuke; he had never mentioned any thing about his family, ever. “You have a sister?”

“Yes, she is probably about fourteen years old now. Even though I have a sister, I never see her because my duty always keeps me away.” Kaname smacked Sousuke in the back of his head; he just rubbed it and gave Kaname a strange look. “Um... What was that for Kaname?”

The blue haired girl steamed and yelled at Sousuke, “You idiot, if you never see you sister you should have taken your vacation time and gone to see her.”

“Well, I guess I could have but then I wouldn’t have been able to see you Kaname,” his words seemed so gentle. Sousuke’s words caused Kaname to blush, and she smiled.

“Is that why you came to Japan, just to see me.”

Sousuke nodded, “affirmative, that is why I came to Japan.” Kaname’s next action puzzled Sousuke; she leaned into him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He brought his hand up to where Kaname planted her kiss and held it tightly.

The look in Sousuke’s eyes told her that he enjoyed it, “so Sagara, do you like me?”

Sousuke was quick to answer Kaname’s question. “Of course Kaname, there is no reason for me not to like you. Why wouldn’t I like you? I mean your kind to others and me but you can get a little aggressive, but I think I like that about you.” Kaname smiled and jumped into Sousuke’s arms, wrapping her arms around him. He pushed the small coffee table away and embraced Kaname. “Kaname, your face is turning red, are you sick?”

Kaname smirked and held Sousuke tighter, “I’m fine Sousuke, but could you just hold me for now.”

Sousuke nodded and brought Kaname in closer, “roger.” The heat from Sousuke’s body made Kaname feel better, she thought back over the time they had been together. She realized this is the first time that Sousuke had ever been this close to somebody.

The brown haired soldier stared out the window; the rain was still pounding the earth. He grinned when he saw Kaname jump after a burst of thunder. He caressed her hair and she dozed off in to a peaceful sleep. Sousuke smiled as he gazed at Kaname, he thought to himself that he could not be happier than this. Kaname was the only person he could imagine exposing his entire life to because she was the one he felt he could fall in love with.

The next morning Sousuke awoke to the smell of bacon and eggs, looking up he saw Kaname preparing their meal. He looked around to see if Mao had made it in, nope. The rain still pounded and the storm still went on. Standing up off the couch he smiled, Kaname saw this and grinned, “hey Sousuke, you know. Ever since the last time I saw you, you seem to smile a lot more.”

Sousuke looked over at Kaname in wonderment, “do I really?” Kaname nodded as she continued to cook breakfast. “Well, maybe I feel better now that I’m here with you.” His comment brought a small smile and a large blush to Kaname’s face. Sousuke stood at the balcony window and gazed outside; it seemed as if the world wanted the two to become closer.

The teenage girl finished breakfast and placed it on a large serving plate; she walked over to Sousuke and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around as Kaname said, “hey, breakfast is ready.” She took Sousuke’s hand and pulled him over to the kitchen table. They sat and began to eat; Kaname sighed because Sousuke was being so quiet so she decided to strike up a conversation. “Sousuke, how are we getting to school?”

He looked over at the clock; it was six thirty in the morning. “I guess we can take my car.” Kaname jumped and then became angry. Her eyes turned red and became large; Sousuke backed off in fright, “um... Kaname, why do you look like that?”

She grabbed her fan from her bag and swung it at Sousuke, direct hit. She started to scream at Sousuke as she pounded him down, “you idiot, you could have brought your car yesterday and saved us that walk.”

Pondering at the thought Sousuke smiled, “but then all this time we spent together would have never happened.” Kaname thought to herself, ‘well he does have a point.’ He gently grasped her hand and led her down to the parking complex. He continued to lead her lower and lower, deeper and deeper in to the complex until they reached a door that said Urzu 7.

She turned to face Sousuke as he pulled out a key and a card, “what is this Sousuke?”

“My insurance, just incase anyone tries to attack you.” Kaname was in awe, was he still trying to protect her. Somehow that didn’t bother her; in fact, she seemed to feel comfort in what Sousuke was doing. Sousuke opened the door and revealed a large AS hangar, and inside was Arbalest.

“Wow it still hasn’t changed.”

Sousuke grinned, “well, he and I are better friends, and the Lambda driver works better than ever.” He ran down the stairs and opened the cockpit to the dormant Arm Slave, as he began operations he motioned for Kaname to come down. Kaname slowly walked down the stairs to the Arm Slave. Sousuke hopped out and looked back inside the cockpit. Looking at Kaname he grinned, “you know there is not enough room inside the AS for both of us.”

“WHAT!!” She looked over to the hangar door, “you know, we may be better off not going to school today.”

Sousuke nodded in agreement, “maybe your right, the rain may compromise the stability of the ECS.” Kaname smiled and pulled Sousuke back up to his room, looking around for Mao, she still had not returned.

When they arrived inside Kaname picked up Sousuke’s phone and dialed the school’s number. She talked with the school administration and explained the situation that she and Sousuke were in. “Ok, thanks, we will be there on Monday for sure.” She hung up the phone and looked over at Sousuke, “well it looks like were have to stay here for a while.” Sousuke walked over to Kaname and placed his arms around her waist, gently grasping her. A bright red blush grew upon Kaname’s face, she turned around and smiled, “so where did this come from?”

“Well since you showed affection to me last night I though that I should repay the favor.” He smiled and held her tighter, gently lifting her and placing her on the couch. After letting go of Kaname the young girl gave off a small whine, it seemed she didn’t want Sousuke to leave. “Relax,” the soldier left for the next room, he walked back in holding a large comforter, “I just went to get this, here.”

Sousuke handed her the comforter and sat down, Kaname wrapped the comforter around the two of them and held on to Sousuke. “So when did you learn to be so affectionate.” She looked at Sousuke with a smile, but the smile quickly faded away as she saw Sousuke’s expression turn cold. “What happened Sousuke?”

“Its, its nothing.” Kaname gazed in to Sousuke’s eyes, they were cold and so full of pain. She held him tighter hoping that he would tell her, Sousuke looked down and saw the concern in Kaname’s eyes. He sighed then glance over at the window, “fine Kaname, I will tell you.”

Looking out the window he sighed, “you know, love is not something you can easily forget. This is a lesson that I would never forget.” Kaname gazed in to the eyes of this soldier, she frowned as he continued his story. “there was once a girl that I loved. I loved her even though I was only thirteen, it may seem naive to be in love at such a young age but out on the battlefield nothing makes sense.”

Kaname looked in to Sousuke’s eyes, “her name was Chemi Futsinagi, and she was beautiful. Her hair was black with her tips dyed blonde, her eyes were pearl. It was just when I joined Mithril, and we were in Iraq searching for a renegade M6 pilot. She was in Mithril’s custody because she was a whispered, at that time I did not know she was one.”

He sighed and gazed in to Kaname’s eyes, “well, the enemy attacked us and I saved her from a falling Savage. After that we began to bond, but the interactions with her clouded my judgment.” Kaname looked out the window in the same direction as Sousuke, “we started to fall in love and I began to disobey orders, just to see her. Then it happened, on a day just like this I lost her, but I don’t regret it. I wish I could have done something to save her but I guess it was meant to be.” He smiled at Kaname and held her tighter, he placed his chin on top of her head and caressed her hair. “Because in that small amount of time we were together she taught me so many things, how to care and love, but until I met you I let that incident torture me and I said to myself that my emotions will get me killed, then I fell in love again.”

The soldier gazed at Kaname with the gentlest eyes, Kaname smiled and leaned in to Sousuke. She lifted herself to Sousuke’s face and brushed her lips across his sending a wave of heat throughout their bodies. “I love you too Sousuke Sagara.” She smiled and held tighter on to Sousuke, the young girl smiled and drifted in to a peaceful sleep. Sousuke continued to caress the young girl’s hair when he heard a knock at the door. He stood from his sitting position gently laying Kaname back down. Sousuke walked over to the door and pulled out his pistol just in case. He looked out the crack in the door and quickly opened the door completely when he saw that it was Kurtz holding Mao.

Kurtz rushed in to the apartment holding Mao, he placed her on Sousuke’s bed. “Yo man, hurry and get a med kit.”

While Kurtz attended to Mao’s wounds Sousuke grabbed the surgical kit from under the television. He grabbed the kit and handed it Kurtz, “so what happened to her.”

The blonde soldier looked at Sousuke then back at Mao, “Masamura’s men jumped her. They attacked the downtown mall with three Shadow’s.” Sousuke growled then looked back at Chidori, Kurtz saw him staring at her and finished patching up Mao’s wounds. “Sousuke man, did you tell her how you felt?”

“Yes, and about Chemi.” Kurtz frowned, he knew the story well, and in fact he was the first person he told the story to. Other than Kalinin, who was there at the incident, Sousuke seemed to trust him and Mao the most with his feelings. “I still have not told her about my older sister and my mother, I only told her about my younger sister.”

Kurtz pulled the comforter over Mao and then walked over to Sousuke, “I guess it’s a good thing I opted to take my break later. Kalinin informed me that there was some AS activity in Japan but I never imagined Masamura still had Shadow’s and that new AS that we saw.” Sousuke knew the AS that Kurtz was talking about, when they found Venom they didn’t find Gauron but they did find plans for an Arm Slave code-named Reaper.

“Where did the Arm Slave leave to.”

Kurtz frowned, “I don’t know, the ECS on that AS was more advanced than ours, the only ECS that can match it would be Arbalest’s ECS. Sousuke, Kalinin wants you to watch over Kaname for a while, he received news that the whispered canidates are under fire again.”

Sousuke glanced back at Kaname, “even if those orders had not reached me I would still protect her to the ends of Earth.”

Then Sousuke’s blonde comrade patted him on the back. “Spoken like a true romantic Sousuke, you know Kalinin said your just like your father, well until he lost his memory and went insane.”

The brown haired soldier looked back at his subordinant, “what do you mean.”

Kurtz shook his head in astonishment, “didn’t Kalinin tell you?” Sousuke shook his head, “damn, well man, brace yourself for this. Gauron is your father.” Sousuke jolted to his feet and yelled out waking up Kaname and Mao.

“There is no way Gauron is my father.”

Kurtz looked down, “get this, it turns out that he survived your last fight.”

Author’s Notes~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Damn man, I got so freken bored cause my internet went out so I just kept going, I guess it payed off because this chapter is a lot longer than the last one. Just to tell you that if this story is to similar to my other one it is because it is the same story just explained better, and well this one is better I hope. Well any ways, instead of rushing the Gauron father thing in the first chapter I decided to bring out a villian before exposing the horrible truth. Oh yeah and in the future I will reveal how Chemi is involved in this story cause she may not be dead.
