Help!

I have an idea for a new FMP story but I don't know what to do with this one.

The story is supposed to be more of my dramatic "Sousuke X Kaname" stuff and in this one, I wanted to have Sousuke rescue Kaname from her apartment (which is on fire).

The problem is, how do I write this without looking like I'm copying movies like "Spider Man 2" or "Ladder 49 (I hated that movie)"? None of which I would EVER do. Any ideas?:sousuke:

Don't have him going through a dilemma about his lost super powers. That should help you avoid any problems with Spiderman 2. Never saw Ladder 49.

Seriously, it's not a big deal. The story surrounding the fire and the characters is more important than how the rescue is carried out. If Sousuke happens to fall through the floor, and lifts Kaname to safety, I don't think anyone's going to scream at you for ripping off Spiderman.

But on a more technical note, Sousuke's not a fireman, so he won't have a firehose, ladders, or a fire ax. And unlike Peter Parker, he won't be completely unarmed. Have him use the weapons and tools that Sousuke carries. That should make things different enough.

I assume he would be using explosives to extinguish the fire.
But why not create a draft first before you worry about the lawyers. ;)

....I have to agree with Tau. Put pen to paper... or fingers to keyboard.
THEN worry about ripping off. Or as another prolific writer around here
once said "You can only tell the story only so many ways"

Best of luck MegaDuffy!

Thanks for the help Guys!

@Taurec: Don't explosives cause fires?

@Weltall Elite: "Ladder 49" was about a firefighter who was one of the best on his team that gets trapped in a burning building and remembers his life before being trapped there.:sousuke:

Properly placed explosives can smother fires.

Fires require Oxygen. A properly controlled explosion eats up all the Oxygen in the Area, suffocating the fire. It's one of the less common ways of putting out a blaze (for obvious reasons. People dont want to see firefighters packing warheads I'm sure.)

Explosions and fires are what the US did to end the burning oil lines in Kuwait after Hussein set them on fire, and even with the explosives they had to prepare for it and finish the job off with a lot of resources and effort.
