We can only hope not. But I don't think FMP's characters are that simple. Not even its villains.
Besides, you know how these things go. Evil bastard that he is, he's in love with Kaname, therefore, he "can't be all bad". >_< there's a couple ways this usually goes.
"I'm rotten and evil, but I'm in love with the heroine." --> "Being around her has touched my soul and shown me the error of my ways." --> "I will now live to make ammends for my past sins with her compassionate support every step of the way."
OR
"I'm rotten and evil, but I'm in love with the heroine." --> "Being around her has touched my soul and shown me the error of my ways." --> "To repent for my sins, I will turn against my evil organization to save the girl I love, and she will be moved by my selfless sacrifice and give me a little more sugar before I go."
Let's hope it doesn't go either way. >_<

You forgot Reinselft's option, which is quite probable: "I'm rotten and evil, but I'm in love with the heroine." --> "I'm thoroughly amoral." --> "I will capture the heroine and attempt to engage in what passes in my sick, twisted mind for foreplay while my evil plans are being thwarted by the angry boyfriend outside of the fortress."
And while we're at it, I vote for tearing him apart with alternating grav/antigrav application of the Lambda Driver. Just for poetic justice.

I like that one better. I hope that's how it goes.Pyrite wrote:You forgot Reinselft's option, which is quite probable: "I'm rotten and evil, but I'm in love with the heroine." --> "I'm thoroughly amoral." --> "I will capture the heroine and attempt to engage in what passes in my sick, twisted mind for foreplay while my evil plans are being thwarted by the angry boyfriend outside of the fortress."
Still... I feel I should clarify something. I don't see Leonard playing out as the stereotype evil villain. Asides from his affections for Kaname, he's already shown signs that he's not completely without consideration. He gave up his spy to avoid conflict with Kalinin (who obviously must not thing he's totally evil to refer to him as an "aquaintance"), had a perfectly polite conversation with Kalinin with no threats or dark undertones, and he sent his sister a birthday gift. This may not quite play out exactly as I would like it to.
Well, "amoral" and "evil" aren't exactly the same, although I'm not qualified to explain the difference. And we don't really know what he's got up his sleeve... but knowing the TOMO spoilers, it can't be good.Weltall Elite wrote:Still... I feel I should clarify something. He's the kind of villian who thinks he's above everyone else...he thinks he can always have his way, and that it doesn't matter how he gets what he wants, as long as he gets it. As far as him giving up his spy, I find it to be very stereotypical of a villian to give those under him so as not to ruin his later plans (I could be wrong, but the way he and Kalinin met seemed to me to be like the way "gentlemen" on opposite sides meet...very sophisticated and polite to each other's face, but both very intent on killing the other). I don't think his intentions are the same as his organization's intentions, and that he's more using them to get what he wants...which is something we haven't figured out yet. It will be interesting to see how he develops.

You mean outside of getting some Kaname nookie?I don't think his intentions are the same as his organization's intentions, and that he's more using them to get what he wants...which is something we haven't figured out yet.
Yeah. So the bad guy falls for the hero's girl. Then beats the crap out of the hero in front of the girl. Then threatens to kill the hero if she doesn't surrender herself to him. Then leaves the hero alive to plot his revenge and take back the girl...Pyrite wrote:Well, "amoral" and "evil" aren't exactly the same, although I'm not qualified to explain the difference. You know, I think I've seen this story before. They called it Fist of the North Star last time. Go, Ken, I mean, Sousuke!

And now for the reading pleasure of the the Leonard Must Die Club...
As we all know, Leonard is a genius. He also has quite a way with words. And he is devilishly handsome. But incidentally, he is also in love with Kaname Chidori and wants to make her his own. So one may wonder, how the hell did he think the things he did in the novels were going to win her heart? Well, the truth lies in a clever plot planned out between him and his mentor, Mr. Gold. This is the genius behind plot to woo the blue-haired beauty.
In the evil lair where evil people plan evil things...
Gold: So you dig that Chidori girl, eh?
Leonard: Yeah, she's a real piece of ass.
Gold: I'm sayin', yo. You should tap that.
Leonard: Nah. Probably not a good idea.
Gold: Give me one good reason why she wouldn't be falling all over you as we speak?
Leonard: Uh... because I'm an egocentric, psychotic bastard who works for an evil organization who's been the bane of her existence for nearly the past year, and she's already in love with someone else? Not to mention, she has no idea who I am?
Gold: So?
Leonard: ...You make a compelling argument. How should I make my move?
Gold: Well, the timing is perfect. You see, Gauron has sent out an assassin to kill her.
Leonard: I see. So you think I should go to her rescue?
Gold: No, that would be too direct. You wouldn't want her thinking you were some obsessed freak, now would you?
Leonard: Quite right. What do you suggest?
Gold: Just sit in the shadows picking your nose while leaving her to fend for herself. Then casually make your appearance after she's been nearly slaughtered by the assassin, flanked by a couple AS units making it perfectly clear that you could have helped out at any time but decided not to.
Leonard: I don't understand. How will this impress her?
Gold: Simple, my boy. Chidori is a modern girl. By ignoring her in her time of need, you show that you respect her independence and don't expect her to rely on a man. Chicks these days eat that stuff up. Furthermore, it will show a complete contrast from the protective nature of her current love interest. You want to distinguish yourself as different, so that you catch her attention, after all.
Leonard: Good show, old bean! I'll have her eating from my palm at my display of complacency for her safety!
Gold: Right, you are! Then kill the assassin, preferably splattering his gore across her face, followed by talking in condescending riddles. This way she'll think you're mysterious, yet powerful. She'll most certainly be intrigued by you. Also, after all that has happened to her, the riddles will help to confuse her already over-stressed mind, making it easier to take advantage of her.
Leonard: I see. I suppose I should also impress her by talking smack about her protector, while at the same time turning her thoughts to love.
Gold: Exactly! Then follow it up by sexually assaulting her.
Leonard: You think she'll be mad about that?
Gold: Nah, she'll be practically clawing for your belt by that point, so I'm sure she'll love it.
Leonard: Eh heh heh... ::drools::
Gold: After that, leave the scene as mysteriously as you came with more riddles and such. This will leave her frightened and confused, yet excited.
Leonard: Nice plan. I suppose I could come back another day and talk more smack about her boyfriend, before beating the crap out of him, nearly killing her best friends and destroying her home city.
Gold: Of course! Chicks totally dig that! Plus, you'll prove you're better than the guy she's with and remove anything else she cares about from the picture with fiery destruction!
Leonard: With nothing left in her life, what reason would she have NOT to be mine!? Mwuhaha!
Gold: Indeed! Mwuhaha! Though, she may still be shy about running right into your arms. So for good measure, threaten to kill her bodyguard so she can save face and say she did it to save him. Then you can whisk her away with you!
Leonard: Should I finish off the boyfriend?
Gold: No, leave him alive so he can come seeking his revenge and reclaim his woman. This way you have another opportunity to flex your brutish muscles to her, making her swoon for certain!
Leonard: Brilliant! What could possibly go wrong!?
And so the FMP Leonard saga began!!!

Weltall, you are more twisted than I am.
As for totruing Leonard to death...
Goose: Hey there Loe. Gotta few questions for ya - can I take a look at your palm? Hmm.... says here you're gonna suffer soon *cuts off finger* (pleasant tone), well, how about that. Palm reading does work!
Leonard: What are you trying to do? (shock from cut)
Goose: Kill you slowly, but retain my cheerful pleasant nice guy image while doing so. "Cherio, lad" *cuts of anohter finger*

My humor is so unappreciated.Wild Goose wrote:

Yeah, I thought about that, actually. Both Sousuke and Kaname have technically had their "first kiss". But I don't think it would make the one between them any less significant. To Sousuke, his first was little more than a mundane act. Like CPR or something. Kaname basically stood there frozen while she was assaulted. Not like she returned it or anything. So how much stock you put in either of them is really debatable. To me their first real kiss would be a VERY different experience for them both.me too...count me in....oh how could he....stole a kiss...well sousuke did that too with mizuki so they are equal...
sousuke kiss mizuki...
leonard kiss chidori...
oh how i hope the next novel will make sousuke kiss chidori..i think we have waited long enough....
PS: Nice avatar, btw.

...so what's Lenardo's list of crimes again? Who wants to read the charges?
- being a bishonen... TIMES 20!!!
- leader of Amalgam
- has kissed and has eyes for Chidori
* doublewhammy he did that before Sousuke did
- is a slimeball
- happens to be Tessa's brother
I don't think there's a death painful enough to cover all this so far
