It's not only in illustrations, but in the various info materials, what little is there about him, nature of their past relationship is obscured possibly implying something unusual. part of Tessa's worship of Sousuke might be derived from her past worship of her bro, it is clear she has complex feelings about him, and he's a manipulative sleaz..*cough*
I would like to see something that clearly shows what happened for these 2, but I don't expect it in english But they do look nice together hehe.
I'm not sure what's in the novels- the summary books aren't up to date, and my books are in a box until I can resume lessons.

Hmm... the ol' 'older brother' complex, huh? Yeah, I wish they
got Lenardo / Renardo into the anime, either 1st or 2nd season so we
could delve into the guy. The only hint of him is from ep 10, when Tessa
refers to their past sibling rivalry -- something about how he solved
some complex math problem at 4 and her at 6.

It was: One of Einsteins 10 element non-linear simultaneous differential equations. While this isn't what I thought it was, I figured it was, but I think I was remembering something else(whoops). What these equations are, are basically generally put this way: Matter tells space/time how to curve and space/time tells matter how to move, and most of his equations deal with how matter reacts with other matter. After creating this theory it took some of the greatest minds in the world 75 years to understand it and work it out. It takes at least a few pages to write completely out. Figuring it out without it being taught is an extremely hard task, and at that age is virtually impossible.

SUPPOSEDLY in the novels, Renardo puts the moves on Kaname at
Jindai, which leads to a SERIOUS case of romantic? rivalry that
makes the one Sousuke had with the martial arts guy look like
patty cake.

The manga is no where near this stuff....and probably won't be for some time. I'm not sure where it's up to in the monthlies, but the collected volume before last just was the Bohemoth bit (which lasted most of 2 volumes, to give an idea of the speed they are working at). They still have to get through Kaname-on-the-sub, not to mention the stuff inbetween. acutally I should be checking amazon japan for a new volume I think...
Kaname doesn't go 'bad'. Tessa makes some ethically poor decisions.

about the pic with the kiss of renardo and kaname, it seems that kaname is a lot of suprise and watching her clothes it dosen,t seems like two way kissing.

No I haven't read them.
I have relied on the 2 guide books that have been released about the story, but there are some old threads in the back of this forum where someone who was reading them shared some info with us.
Quite interesting, however I recommend reading ruri's posts with the awareness that the posts were happening as they were reading (ie,there's a difference between what ruri says happens, and what ruri thinks will happen).
About the image. Sorry I'm not clear on exactly what's going on. But what I recall is that Kaname encountered some trouble (which, seems quite clear here), and Tessa's brother either helped her out, or took some credit for helping her out.
The later image of him kissing her supposedly depicts her 'first kiss' which she wasn't expecting at the time. If you can read the ruri posts, one of which is "Interesting things from the novels' I think, then you'll find more interesting infomation
