This week's discussion of FMP-is-great will now begin for the final episode of TSR!

They cut the intro and ending sequences to fit it all in 27 mins and it was totally worth it. Covered everthing I wished to see.

Chidori does combo-moves on Sousuke.
I'm glad they didn't multilate Yui Lan's body... well, nothing tore off.
When Sousuke pulverizes Gates, I was grinning so big and when I saw Kruz being the only one grinning too, it cracked me up. ROFL
Is Gates still alive? It's like a Gauron thing if you ask me.
They almost show Wrath's real face. She has a sexy voice.

As for all the Kaname-Sousuke lovey dovey stuff... well, if we were playing the FMP drinking game, I'd be throwing up or passed out by the toilet by now.

We see Sousuke getting up after the explosion then he called her name .... Chidori.. Chidori death ???
Pretty dramatic.
Some of the mithril operatives are gaga wanting to shoot Sousuke (guessing the see him as a liability) yay for big robots falling from the sky to save him
But not from Chidori's knee to face kick ..LOL... Upper cut Bwahaha..... Elbow *snickers*... Double spin chest kick.. Well that knocked some sense into him.
Damn Clusout knows how to keep Yu Fan busy but got his ass whooped finally.

Gates is evil ...... omfg what a bastard <g> I have no idea how that scene will slip past the US censors..
Wow it took him a good what 4 seconds to finish Yu .. snif rip.

"Sagara Sousuke daaaaaaaa!!" OMG I watched this episode 5 times in a row to re-watch all my favorite parts! Maaaaan, this episode was so good, I'm kinda bummed it's over though. I was a little shocked with how quickly Yu Fan was killed by Gates. But then again, she was running around and blowing stuff up for how long? All that stuff with her and her sis in this ep was really sad. I felt bad for both of them. Of course, the entire fighting scene was really good. I loved listening to Sousuke and the Arb count each hit, especially when they did it in unison! I cracked up at Tessa's reaction to being called by her first name by Sousuke. She was so happy! LOL I cracked up even more before that when Sousuke realized he was being informal and lapsed back into his rigid formalities. LOL The end of this ep was really touching with Chidori gently crying on Sousuke's chest. For some reason I liked that shot of both of their feet, with Chidori missing her shoe. I reeeally wanted to see Sousuke hug Chidori, but he got interrupted. Poor guy, at least he is trying I loved this episode; it tied up everything without leaving anything out. The series was incredible.

Probably my favorite episode of this series. The whole no opening is normal I have a few animes that do that it lets you know that it's the last episode when it skips the intro and jumps right into the show and the intro song playing during the ending credits.

Did anyone else see the to be continued- tsuzuku at the the end meaing to be continued I hope this means they will animate the other novels.

Well, that's just the title for episode 13: "Tsuzuku Hibi" (Continuing Day After Day). That episode title makes more sense to be shown at the end because only at the end do things return to the day-to-day "normalcy" that it used to be before Sousuke was called off the Kaname mission.

But the anime leaves it very open like the end of ODBD novels. Leonard is still out there as is Amalgam.

I'm sure a sequel is already in progress. I mean come on, Fumoffu 2.. imagine how much power it has! It'll be a shock if they don't seize that opportunity. Plus there's way, way too many novels that havent been animated yet.

The music was awesome, the animation was awesome, the fights were awesome, chidori was awesome, the seiyuu were awesome... everything was awesome.
I really like the beautiful music playing at the scene where kaname is standing in front of Sousuke and the sun's rising.... *o* For me that's the most beautiful scene in TSR and maybe the whole FMP series.

There were a lot of shoe scenes in it, did you recognize?


I'm wondering about someone of the producers being a shoe fetishist.

I'm really looking forward to seeing a possible sequel...
And I hope they'll do DVMC next (this abbreviation somehow reminds me of Devil May Cry )
and maybe COMO. But if the animate COMO they have to do BOMF as well, cause COMO is ending with a cliffhanger. >_< TSR was a complete success, why to cancel such an awesome series.

I've never seen any product placement in anime.
Except "Wac Dnalds"... ohh and the "Pizza But" ) But thats funny.

I don't know about the shoe fetish .. but one of them is watching Gundam Seed...

This ep, to me, had some interesting parallels to the earlier episodes. That scene where Chidori is standing in front of Sousuke while the sun is rising, is reminiscent of the Sicily mission episode where Mao tells Sousuke to think about his future while they are riding on the helicopter back to base. Sousuke looks out the window to see the sun rising over the ocean and he mutters, "Future..." So again, I found the connection between these 2 scenes very touching. Another scene was the one where Gates basically took Bel hostage, while screaming at Sousuke to "stay back!" That shot me back to the episode where that kid took those secret pictures of Chidori and was threatening to spread one particular photo all over the Internet before Sousuke ultimately subdued him (and everyone else ) with his transmitter. And last, but certainly not least is the Amazing Kumodoushin (Spider Policeman)! Remember that movie that Chidori was watching? In the movie, the boss tells his gang to kill the superhero. In this last episode, Gates tells his men to kill Sousuke. However, Sousuke manages to get rid of them. He even uses that cable that shoots out of the Arb's wrist on one of the Venoms, which is heavily reminiscent of Spiderman . Anyway, these were just some things I noticed.

Heh...this series takes the idea of being a united piece rather than just seperate episodes to a level I haven't really seen before...I think it's excellent..

Overall...I'd say, I'm really impressed with TSR...I mean, certain things in the story, well, honestly I could've seen them executed better, but on the other hand, they did a really good job with it considering the novel they had to go on (some of it really didn't go over quite as smoothly with me)....

On the technical side of things...I very much enjoy the artwork...but it doesn't really stop there, I also very much enjoy the advanced techniques they use...

The 'shakycam' effect in particular, used aboard the TDD a lot as they gear up for missions, I really liked that...the timing of the soundtrack with the anime was also superb, the final time the gates theme rolled I was...well...it was perfect...

So yeah, overall I'm really happy with it.

the AS battles got cut out for more loveydovey, yammeryammer,
but the Sousuke / Arbalest combo got to REALLY lay the smackdown
before it ended

Kaname laid it into Sousuke in her usual.... forthright manner

Wraith's true persona is shown... like Sousuke, I guess there IS a human
being underneath all that armor

Tessa shows her 'girlish' side

...got one last headshot at Leonard before it ended



All I can do I guess is wait for it to be subbed, then for ADV to R1 release
it. While I'm at it, I could actually get off my butt and start reading
the bokutachi translations

Invariably I'll always endup comparing TSR to the 1st, and I felt #1
had a better balance between the mushy-gushy and the action -- then again,
it did have 24 episodes to play with, vs 13 for TSR -- but I have to reiterate
how shafted it felt for TSR to have so much action at the start, then
lose it at the end except for some quickie AS shots and the Sousuke / Arbalest
hadouken move at the end...

Hopefully TSR had enough popularity for TPTB in Japan to consider
planning an additional 13 eps to TSR


...as for the eternal Sousuke x ___ debate, I guess things now stand
at Tessa 2, Kaname 0 for the admission of love department, and Kaname
2, Tessa 0 in the got close to Sousuke at the end department

you're forgetting that Tessa has now been called by her nickname by Sousuke, something Chidori hasn't had the honor of yet, right?
