*** [TSR] *** Episode 13 - Continuing Day After Day - :)
Moderators: KiLlEr, HELLFIRE, Taurec
It's fairly simple. FMP is based upon a series of novels. A _long_ one, at that. The novel TSR is based upon is significant in that it is only now we are told clearly that Chidori has a heavy crush on Sousuke. Sure, we've been able to sense it before - but it's not been clear. Let me elaborate.
In the real world, Sousuke would've asked Chidori out or something like that, and everything would've gone smoothly, considering he likes her too - however, as it is, Sousuke doesn't quite live in the real world, and Chidori's advances on Sousuke have gone for deaph ears, or atleast, he hasn't responded in kind.
It's gotten to the point where a lot of steam has been build up in both of them, in fact so much that Kaname _really_ likes him now. So much that she can't allow things to proceed normally, and feels a _real_ need to tell him, and then await his response. She doesn't because she's scared, or something like that, we can't tell for sure.
Either way, this is part of her character development. You should consider that the writer of the story isn't at his job to write a story about two young people falling in love under peculiar circumstances and then getting eachother. You want that, you can watch one of hollywoods 'comedy-romances' (or romantic commedies, if you're talking straight)...
The writers job is to write novels with fleshed out characters who seem to have a psyche and will of their own - characters that are believable, and show characteristics we're all able to relate to.
It also factors in that the series is far from over, and putting the hero and the heroine together just yet doesn't fit with everything - and keeping them near-together is sure to keep a lot of readers interested.
But mostly, the whole building up Chidori's feelings and making her keep them to herself is a question of making her deeper, and making her deal with an issue which a lot of readers and viewers undoubtedly have to deal with themselves - revealing that secret crush they have on someone.
There are litterary motives for these things - that is why they happen as they do.
This is the reason it didn't happen in the novels. The reason it didn't happen now is because it didn't happen in the novels. You want to know what happens next?, you guessed it: Read the novels!
They're available on this board. Just check the sticky threads.

Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

Re: meh
1) Kaname's a blockhead when it comes to her own true feelings, especially in loveZyzix wrote:Then can someone please inform me of why they had Kaname not tell her feelings?
2) she knows Sousuke's not the type to easily and freely reciprocate those feelings
...I'm not holding my breath

On a good day, a Tomahawk can fly into the door of a two-car garage at the distance of several hundred miles. And that can ruin your whole day.

Okay im confused with one part. Who really called hunter? Mao or Wraith?
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Well, this Topic may be kinda old, but I would like to point out the cause of "Is this to short" thing with Gates.
In episode 4, Sousuke had an encounter with Gates (the first time, earlier in the episode) , he shot at him a few times, and the last time, Gates blocked it with the Lambda Driver and said "If my Sideburns were any shorter, I would've died!"
In episode 13, he's basically saying, "I'm done for", since he grabbed his sideburns and wondered if they were too short.
Maybe someone else caught that, maybe not, I dunno, just thought I'd explain it incase no one else caught it.
(I'm pretty sure no one else mentioned it on this Topic, if so, then my bad.)

Just checking, but whose subs are you using? Bakakozou's have him saying, "if I hadn't been concentrating", which might explain why I didn't get the joke. I should get better subs.Kentiah wrote:Well, this Topic may be kinda old, but I would like to point out the cause of "Is this to short" thing with Gates.

EDIT: Well, whaddaya know. "Momiage" is Japanese for "sideburns", and I'm pretty sure I hear something like that in the line. That's it, I'm getting rid of my subs.

Well, the Full Metal Panic series is based of a series of novels, the second novel is titled "Continuing Day by day" the same title as the final episode, and they did leave one huge hole, Tessa's brother.
I would say they will make a third Full Metal Panic series and im almost posative it would be released in the states due to the sucess of FMP and FUUMOFU and the eventual Sucess of TSR.
Speaking of which I was at Anime Expo this year and they are releasing TSR in americia and Funimation IS a part of it, HOWEVER Funimation is only a part of distribution, not development, so we're going to have all the same voice actors as before and none of the shotty Funimation crap that we all feared.
But They should make a third Full Metal Panic series, just based on the fact that they left way too many open ends, including the ever elusive Love Triangle that has caused oh so much argument on these forums. ( Its KanamexSosuke and you all know it.)
Although I would not under most conditions be adverse to a FUUMOFU 2 series, not by most means, there are a few reasons i would dislike it but they would have to go pretty far out of thier way to reach it.
