First off, I'd like to thank Brandi and the people at Boku-Tachi for working on these novels. I was rather keen on reading them, and I'm really glad I could find a translation. (Seems like a pretty arduous task, and I think they've done an excellent job -- I consider myself quite lucky that somebody's doing it at all, actually.)

I have a few thoughts about some things. Regarding Bunny: even though he is dead, could he have had an AI alter-ego? If he did, and it were found, then would it be able to help any with AI design or replicating the Lambda Driver? Granted, Bunny's expertise in those fields was probably due to his Whispered knowledge, but given the degree to which Al was synchronizing with Sousuke, it doesn't seem impossible. Bunny could have intentionally stored some of his technical knowledge in an AI, too. (Granted, if Mithril were in possession of such an AI, they would probably already be using it. But it could be concealed somewhere... just a thought, anyway. Heck, technical data of that sort might even be hidden in Al himself, assuming his hardware components survived the destruction of the Arbalest (man I hope we get to see Al equipped on the ARX-8!))

About Chidori helping to improve the Behemoth: I'm reminded of Nikolai Balthasar from Xenogears, who was captured by Solaris and made to work on research into integrating humans with Gears. He was eventually merged with the gear Achtzehn, brainwashed, and sent to destroy the city Shevat. But while battling his daughter Maria (who piloted the gear Seibzehn), a record of his own personality that he had left in Achtzehn asserted itself, and helped Maria defeat him. (Naturally, I'm hoping that doesn't happen to Chidori... just a random observation, I guess.)

With regards to SOusuke being stated in clearcut terms as a normal person...

Remember that Leonard was a Whispered, could harness the powerof BOTH the Lambda Driver and Omnisphere, and wiped the floor with SOusuke and Al.

Now, imagine how sweet victory would be if Sousuke, who is NORMAL, and not as intelligent as Leonard, were to defeat him. THe shock would probably fry Leonard's brain. ^^

And Sousuke is truly an underdog... Mithril decimated....

Goddamnit where the hell is Kalinin, he was one of the few cool old guys in anime ;_;

I have been infact wondering where Kalinin is myself. I am also curious how far along the next novel is as I have been without internet for a bit of time.

You know, that's a very interesting point that I never thought of before. I could only imagine how squashed Leonard's ego would be. LOL Sousuke being an underdog is part of what makes him so appealing, I think. On another side note, what is the Omnisphere? Can't recall of ever hearing about it, unless I'm mistaken. :P

Arrogance can be a very good quality for an underdog to exploit hehe

We don't know what the Omnisphere is. It was just this type of thing that allowed leonard's as to fly and only it name was metioned we don't know much else.

Heheh, I read it as "allowed leonard's ass to fly".

Could've sworn the Omnisphere was just some really advanced control system, sorta like the TAROS. (Refer to the COMO thread for our speculation, which may not be accurate.)

Don't get me wrong, I think Sousuke's going to get in some good ass kicking on Leonard (or maybe it's the other way around, again), but I really think somewhere along the line Tessa's going to be the one to break her foot off in Leonard's ass. With all that built up tension between her and her brother going back as far as solving one of Einstein's equations at an early age, I see her being the one to finally bring him down. And, after seeing how she stepped up in COMO during the evac, I can't help but think she'll have something to do with bursting Leonard's perfect little bubble. ...though how, I have yet to figure out. Without seeing where BOMF goes, it's all up in the air.

That said, I'd love to see Sousuke standing over Leonard's beaten body kicking and pointing while letting all the four-letter words fly, or something to that effect. Gatou sure did a good job in creating a bad guy that is hated by all the readers...

Heya Deacky. Didn't expect to see you here.

Well, I could see something like defects in the Arbalest's successor or Sosuke that force them into a situation where he can't beat Leonard at the moment, though the potential is there sorta deal. But either ways, I'm just looking forward to how this turns out. But I do say, it would be amusing to have Leonard eating fast food in the kitchen because Kaname won't cook him anything and suddenly, *boom* Aw, there goes the Varial...

Man, Brandi really needs to find her successor to continue translating the novels... I'm already drooling for BOMF and reading these speculations won't make it easier to bear (not that I'm the only one around here) :P

Although I wouldn't mind short-yet-somehow-thorough summaries if translating the future novels is too much of a burden for her (3 full books translated, let's face it, she pulled off a miracle already).

Oh and finally back on topic... I'm joining the Tessa-will-show-her-siblingly-love-for-Leo-by-kicking-his-butt-to-the-moon-or-something-like-that club. The way Sousuke got his ass handed to him suggests it may not be just about inferior hardware (in terms of LD potential) but also the ability to use it (as a whispered). And for the record I would hate to see Sousuke somehow become whispered (or suddenly revealed to be one)... Just not fitting to the story.

And that's my 2 cents.

Now, now, don't be too demanding. Out there, people pay to have translations done. :-P

Having said that, though, you can find the short chapter summaries around this board, or possibly Animesuki if you're so inclined. (For BOMF spoilers, refer to the thread titled, "Are we in a weird parallel universe?")

I'm still not dead, and we actually have recruited other people to work on fmp (although I will still be doing the long novels). Anyway, I usually don't work on much during the summer b/c I'm normally pretty busy. I know people often wonder if I've disappeared, but I haven't. So shinpai shinaide ^^

WHOA, don't get me wrong... I can wait for a year or two for future translations (especially for free). It's just like waiting for the next part of A Song Of Ice And Fire series of fantasy novels, kind of. However like Brandi guessed, I may be more worried about her being kidnapped (and for example locked up in some deep dark hole and tortured to keep on doing the FMP translations ) or just otherwise going *poof* to be never heard of again... Glad she put my fears about that to rest though

Aaaanyway I'm glad things are ok, especially in terms of getting other people working on the novels. Although I can understand that the translation work itself needs to be solo, some continuity is never bad! Plus I do hope you get someone interested in someday picking up the torch (even for a while) if you ever do get too much stuff on your own plate to keep going... Hope you don't take it the wrong way when I say it
