FMP Sigma...

Post by sj4iy »

Full Metal Panic Sigma chapter 2 (manga) is now available (yes, after a very long break).

Oh, and a big thank you to Will, who has taken over translating this manga ^^

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Ya! Finished reading it. Was hoping for some sorta more-sexual torture for the female Bruno but oh well.

finished reading it, too.
hmmm I think I prefer the animated version.IMO the humor gets lost in the manga. For example the carchase, when sousuke speaks to kaname.I loved it in TSR but in Sigma it's to plain and boring.no suspense and emotions.

Nevertheless I dig the drawing style.Mao is superb  and the pic with the uber-M9 looks awesome, too.
[little hind towards my new sig ;)]
Allthough namewise, Bruno is not a good choice for that lady ;)

It's pretty cool how both the mangas and animes use scences already drawn by Shiki Douji in the novels, like at the end when Sousuke receives his order.

So, did TokyoPop also license the "Sigma" manga?

hold up, i could have sworn that either viz or tokyopop was already doing sigma, and I think they've gotten pretty far

oops, never mind
i was in fact looking at the bokutachi translation on manga fox

Yeah, I had just discovered Bokutachi just about the time they dropped the Full Metal Panic projects because the US licensing rights had been acquired. TokyoPop has been turning out the novels, but I can't find any word as to who might be going to translate the Sigma manga.

Having already seen TSR, and read the fan translation of the novel, some of the changes were kind of "whoa..." Nevertheless, it looks like an interesting take on the story.

To be an FMP fan requires a lot of patience, doesn't it?

yeah, it's not fair that all the other popular anime/manga are serialized in weekly chapters while we have to wait indefinate amounts of time for new installations. :(

I wonder if the sigma manga will follow the novel or the anime more closely

What little I have seen corresponded to "Beautiful Sicily" in TSR, and it seemed to stay pretty close to the story as set out in the anime and novel, with the exception that Blueno is a female in manga and the evil twins are goth lollies!

Personally, I thought the way Melissa dealt with Blueno in the anime was a lot funnier than the way they did it in the manga ("I'm a bitch with an itch to pull the trigger..."). Michiko Neya and Allison Keith both did great jobs as Melissa in Second Raid, I think.

There may be more differences, I've only seen the fan trans for those two chapters. Looking forward (forever the optimist) to reading the rest of it someday.
