It's a standard motivational technique to rile up the troops by bating them it dates back to napoleon. and is very effective.

Poor Kyoko!

I'm quite impressed because it seems that in this last novel the characters that usually appear in normal or comical situations!
Kyoko is kidnapped and for the first time we find Hayashimizu in a novel of the regular serie!
