Yeah this is a big smile.

The very first thing that popped into my mind Naked Weapon just read the review and go watch it because it's the only movie that made Nazgul actually shut up during a movie ... and that my friends is almost next to impossible...

If you are a fan of City Hunter you want to see this .. I'm a fan so after seeing the trailer I just had to take a look.

So whats it about? A girl trained since age 5 to become a member of the the "Suzaku Unit" a club of elite assasins.
After having survived the training she was deemed to become a killing machine. But seemingly the brainwash didn't work out that well, remorse is a bitch and she attempts suicide after having killed her #15.
Have no fear ... of course she survives... after a heart transplant.
So there she lies in a coma waiting for death to "set her free".

Now where does City Hunter come in? First of all WTF !!!! They killed Kaori.
So now we know how they got the heart

... but long live Kaori too

Somehow her soul is still "connected" to the heart and while miss Assassin is all moody doomy and gloomy Kaori "sparks her will to live"

And where is Ryo in all of it, Well I had a mixed impression of course he got hurt and tries to be the Ryo we all know and like and yet they managed to deepen his character at the same time. (but only a little ; )

ah well just watch it .. for the sake of the good 'ol days..

I'll check out the 1st ep when th emonth changes over... I'm in need of a good
girl(s) with guns series since Madlax ended. I'm hoping they've updated the
animation since the original City Hunter, but the trailer seems to imply it hasn't...

Right now I have watched till episode 09 and I'm amazed by the quality of the animation and storyline.

While the first 6 episodes provide a solid ground into the story that is made out of a mix of drama, bit of humor and action.
the focus shifts to a bit more humor and even more action in eps 7, 8, 9.

We have a squad of snipers hunting Ryo and G.H. but they find out that they are playing around in his backyard.

It's sad that other fansub groups haven't picked it up.

imho it's the best of fall/winter 2005.

Oh? Girls with guns + a story? That does sound very good. Wait, does this mean that Kaori dies in the end of the City Hunter series? OMG WTF

Ah well, I never planned on watched the old City Hunter anyways.

I'll stick it on my to-watch list. =)

No Kaori didn't die in the City Hunter series.

The fans didn't allow that she died, so Angel Heart should be considered as set in a parallel universe.... But imho that's horse poo

It starts with the focus on Glass Heart but it's not a girls with gun story anymore.

I haven't seen any of Angel Heart yet, gonna wait for more episodes before I DL. But I have watched a couple episodes of the first season of City Hunter.

I'm wondering if I should watch all 4 seasons of City Hunter and some of the movies. What did you guys think of it?

Why shouldn't you ? I know it's a bit dated, but it's a nice mix of action and humor.

Haha, "mokori." What the hell does it mean anyways? Something like moe? Or is it just something he says like Naruto and dattebayo?

Ryo's lechery mode gets activated if there are babes in his near vicinity. "Mokkori" seems to be his "Battle cry" .. <grin>

Mokkori (もっこり) - the act of 'pitching a tent' in Japanese... <grin>
