EDIT: okay, someone's gonna have to fill me in on ep #4, but...
Miss Assassin back in the picture... seems her job to kill Mr McNicol
2 eps ago has some loose ends to tie up, namely the in-the-shadows
group that handles the weapons to the rebel groups in-country. Miss
hot-sniper-babe is back as well.... euh, we'll see. Seems an illegal
entrant to the country's father is in the Rebel forces, and he decides
it's time for a father-to-son meeting. In exchange, he must find the
cause of the civil war. Cue painful (Madlax?) flashback of her past...
uh-huh. Well, better than having Madlax a big blank spot in the series.

oh, Miss sniper-babe's contribution to the ep? An unclothed "Roger"
acknowledgement... DAMN! that Mr Doe guy moves fast!

Score
now stands at 2:0 in the Madlax v. Sniper babe battle... better get moving, girl!

Questions to answer this ep: WHAT is up with Chris' past, and will we see more
of him later? And what's with Mr Doe's... obsession?... with Madlax?

...Loved the ep, hated the lack of answers

Getting #6 now... will report back in a bit, but my hopes aren't
particularly high right now...

EDIT: Our princess having some... interesting dreams again, as the maid
and a doctor discuss her current condition. Just WHAT is Margaret's past
from 12 years ago? Seems Margaret & her parents were lost in a plane
crash, and Margaret eventually found her way home, whispering
the word, Madlax. Margaret goes to enjoy a normal teenage party, when
the maid gets it in her head to keep an eye on things, and it's a darn
good thing, 'cuz Mr Prospective Suitor gets an eyeful of Margaret's little
book and wastes no time putting the moves on her. 'Course Miss (Super)
Maid returns that back.... with interest! OUCH!! NICE!! Little bit of
the Alfred strain going thru Elinor (the maid)? We're left with the cryptic
question "I'll ask you when it rains."

I'll give it credit for the maid laying the smackdown on that guy, but...

Madlax Songs collection available... nothing to really brag about, but I've
missed just HOW beautiful the ED sounds. Oh, and we get that Indian-sounding
piece of music they play during action sequences... not bad, not bad...

who are exposed to it. And talk of a 'book detective'

Wonder who we
could call?

So begins the journey to find the book Margeret's
interested in. Oh, how much would it take to live it up for ten years, thirty
if you're frugal... 'cuz that's how much 1million youl is. My guess is that's
about $10-15mil CAD... maybe

So somehow the Gazth-sonika country ties in with the writing in the book
Margeret possesses, and we know Madlax is in Gazth-sonika.
Hmmmm....

Things MAYBE are beginning to pick up... I hope?

So Mr Book Detective makes his way to Gazth-sonika-- interest piqed,
perhaps, buddy? -- wonder who his 'bodyguard' will be to get to this
person who SUPPOSEDLY can read the writing. Nice shoooting Madlax
has at targets behind her

Secondary... the wandering forbidden book. Huh?

Madlax & Mr Bibliodetective bond a bit in the dark... about living in
a peaceful country v. a country involved in a civil war. About morals
and the illusion of life. About the innumerable ppl Madlax's killed on
the battlefield in Gazth-sonika....

Since this ep didn't neatly tie itself up, I'm THINKING... and HOPING
like hell... the story's about to pick up. We've already been given
quite a few pieces that fit together -- Margeret & her past, and possibly
her family? -- not much mentioned about her father, yet -- the book
she possesses (Secondary) and the mysterious language it's written
in (Elies), Madlax and Margeret's (possible) link to her...

Here's hoping!!

#8 I hope, I hope...Madlax & Mr Eric -- who BTW is in
the middle of nowhere with no phones or any other means of getting
out his 'daily report' to Margeret about his search for her book -- having
a merry old time driving the 'safest' route to their destination. Mr Doe
bringing Ms. Sniper Babe on as his 'personal bodyguard,' and to give her
another crack at Madlax.

Nightfall, and since Nafrece -- France, or Greece perhaps? -- believes in
the ladies first rule, Madlax gets the car, Mr Eric gets the wilderness

Kuanjitta Mallison, new Urd-like babe in the mix, who can read the Ellise
letters, or as they're called... Salleon's Mantra. Madlax unwinding in her...
usual way, taking out the Nafrace followers with Noir-like efficincy. Inside
the cave, Eric meets the wandering children, discovers a part of his past
he thought long buried... and commits suicide, thanking Margeret for
revealing something of himself to himself.

The search for Secondary continues, while Madlax ponders the name
Margeret Burton, and what exactly is normal.

Intrigue abound, and a storyline that holds SO much promise...I hope
they don't piss it away!

...since everyone was losing interest in the lack of a storyline, I was
gonna stick with it until it drove me nuts. Quite frankly, Madlax is
still on shaky ground with me, but now that a coherent storyline is
somewhat forming, yeah... it's worth it to continue.

When I've invested all that time into watching and summarizing for you

ANBU-Lunar #9... Okay, Okay... *cracks knuckles*

An ep of philosophizing and cameos, mostly. A touching flashback between
Madlax and a former associate? of hers, Luciano, who left Gazth-sonika
to find a better life. He's now where Vanessa, Elior and Margaret are
having a vacation -- fingled courtesy of Vanessa's... connections

Mr Joe? and his boss? are at the same resort... ostenably to discuss
business in Gazth-sonika, as their corporation is channeling both raw
materials and weapons via Enfan to the civil war. Luciano, it seems is
here to assassinate Mr Joe & co, but Miss Sniper Babe puts THAT
mission / plan / whatever to a quick end.

Most of the ep tied up with some interaction between the chars, most
notably Margaret and Luciano -- ya think she's taken a fancy to him?
and why he feels so comfortable with her, which reveals possibly ANOTHER
clue about her past she smells like Gazth-sonika

Oh, the interaction between Vanessa & Elior is simply too delicious for
words. How's "Your uniform makes me hot when you wear it" sound?

Yeah, make any man hot for sure... never mind what's UNDER it

Urd-lookalike comes back for a quick scene, as does those two kids --
something about someone's 'trying to come here' (Margaret)

Meanwhile, Madlax on another job, but she's crying... I wonder why
