#10 Picking up from what Vanessa overheard, she
starts digging around for proof her company is involved in the civil
war in Gazth-sonika. Turning to an old friend, computer-nerd / junk-food
type, they're going to use the power of True Cluster -- 2300 home PCs
wired together with a calculating capacity of 262.4 TFLOPS. Hmmm...
Wonder what the guy's monthly power bill's like.

Mr Joe and his Fliday's Farstari and the Secondary book... huh?

Little Hacker-esque the way Vanessa & her friend get access to
Bookwald's system. I was kinda expecting a CG rendering of
cyberspace for a bit, but... Not guns-blazing action thruout their
battle to obtain the data, but interesting and edge-of-your-chair
nonetheless. I wonder if the life of the IT Tech / Network Security is as
interesting as Enfan turns it's infoprocessing capabilities to shut Vanessa,
et al out.

So the data's obtained, but guess where it's stored, and how to get it?
Wonder how Madlax & Vanessa will take to their first meeting...

Next time: new char, who looks alittle like Urashima Keitaro joins the fun...
Wonder when Madlax gets to strut her stuff again. I admit, I miss watching
her make things and ppl go BOOOOOM!

On the flipside, they're up to ep 10 of a supposed 26 ep run. While
a coherent storyline SEEMS to be developing, alot of it's scattered all
over, and we're only giving tantalizing hints as to what's going on.
I'm also kinda put off by their continuing tendency to add new chars
and shove them to the 'secondary' list, then have them pop back the
next ep for a second or two of screentime.

#11 Gazth-sonika. SE Asia, Official Name: Gazth-sonika Cawthran Kingdom,
~1,850km by ~930km, population 24,540,000. Garza's the name of the
rebel forces that oppose the modernizing of the country. Hmm... ring
any bells for anyone? Vanessa's in-country ostenibly checking Bookwald's
dealings, but she's also after the data downloaded to a terminal somewhere in country.
Joe's on her tail, and while it'd be easy to kill her, he would find out about Secondary.

He being Fliday Monday, Head of Enfan (aka. masked man).
A guy you don't want to meet, even in your nightmares.

Madlax's about to have her second? close encounter with Vanessa.
So what can you list on this girl's resume? Info collecting, bodyguarding,
sabotage, assassination Single too!MINE!!So HOW much does it take to hire Madlax exactly?

Our new one-shot char for today: Eins -- think Urashima Keitaro, but
with ALOT less lines.
Parents are doctors, so he's got some money. Maybe Vanessa should've
just stripped naked to get the kid's attention. Would've gotten mine if
some hot tech babe came up and offered to.... 'help' my PC problems so
she could get some top-secret data

Moment of suspense: in this corner, one businesswoman with one comp-geek
type kid, in this corner, 4 men in black suits with sunglasses and guns.
What are the odds? TOO BAD MADLAX'S ACTION SCENES WERE
CUT... AGAIN!!

Gazth-sonika... the country where a person's life is cheap, which is
a lesson Madlax impresses on Vanessa upon their first meeting.
Wonder what the chemistry between these two ladies is going to be like
over the course of this series...

To close, the 2 kids come back for another philosophical cameo: to lie is
to change the truth, ignorance is to not notice the truth, incompetence is
to not be able to grasp the truth. Escape is to get away from the truth.

tagline on the DVD case!! CLASSIC!!

Err... so what's up next? MORE MADLAX ACTION SCENES WOULD BE NICE!!
A couple scenes involving a steaming shower and a VERY naked Madlax
and Vanessa would be nice too

TO KEEP OR TO DROP?: slow as the pacing is, and how thin they like to keep the details,
I'm going to pretty much stick with it for now... I continue to hope I won't
be let down in the end

Madlax #12 So Vanessa got the data, but she get a password
with it? Ooops! So besides having the forces of Enfan and
Fliday Monda on their lovely asses, the two lovely ladies are going
to have Ms Sniper Babe as well. Uh-oh! KABOOM!!

...Never mind how good life is right now in the warzone that is Gazth-sonika

Hint of Madlax in the shower... DAMN!! Couldn't see much...

Madlax explains to Vanessa the reality of her situation: either go
public with the data and get killed by Enfan, or hire her forever... hey,
option #2 would be nice!

Nightfall and a moment of quiet, Vanessa says to Madlax: "Sleep here.
Together." Little more about Madlax is revealed:
she's about 17, and started her 'career' about 3 years ago, 'cuz it was
the only thing that she could do.

// makes a note to check Margeret's age and background as revealed earlier
Is there a correlation between the two?

Vanessa's the princess and Madlax the prince So what to
do that the forces are arrayed against the two? Madlax v. Ms Sniper
Babe in the bar PAYBACK TIME, BITCH!!! Almost...

Battle lasted all of 2mins of the show

Fairly suspenseful, and had Madlax's trademark 'talk-to-'em
rationally-before-pulling-the-trigger' routine, but I still feel shorted on it.
Kaboom goes Ms Sniper Babe's transport, and Madlax pulls the 'close
your eyes and walk away' disappearing act.

Arriving back at the apartment in the morning, Vanessa's resolved to
stay with this until the trith's revealed. She's got guts, I'll give her that!

Oh, some of the unnamed chars get named, finally. The boy of the mysterious
boy-and-girl couple's named Poupee, and Mr Joe is Carossur Dawn.

Next time, he's after Margeret and Secondary. Elior supermaid
going to go back into action again?

#13 Poupee & the girl with him open the ep, mirroring
Margeret and Carousser's first meeting. Psychic impressions left in
the book, or in the blood itself? What the heck?!?!

Meantime, Madlax and Vanessa are holed up in Madlax's 'secret base,'
and the two exchange more of their histories. Vanessa has a deeper
connection to Gazth-sonika than originally hinted: her father held a post
before the civil war and was somehow discredited. Wanting to clear his
name, she joined Bookwald in hopes of doing that. Madlax thinks her
father's still here in the country, somewhere... those damaged dogtags
being the only clue she has.

Another touchy / pervy moment with Vanessa maternally hugging Madlax
after she pours out her sob story... okay, sue me, I want to read MUCH
more into that hug than I should...

Carousser plays the perfect gentleman with Margeret...
thankfully... so Elinor doesn't have to go back into action -- personally,
I think the guy's due for a whiff of hard vaccum... and MORE pieces of
the puzzle: like how Carousser knows the blood is his, and he
also has a past he's forgotten. He's also introduced to Margeret's past
and her whispering the word 'Madlax' upon her return.

Fliday gets a cameo... can Madlax take the truth?

Little freaky Madlax's reaction to Vanessa's frustration in cracking the data...
little patricidal memory locked away here?

Urd-lookalike wisdom for the day: the moon is going to change

More to Margeret than meets the eye--I think we long ago knew that.
Someone tries to steal Secondary while she's asleep, and she
mouths "If you take it, I'll kill you."

Noir-ish, but MUCH less action. I swear the guns got pulled ever ep
in Noir... Madlax is more the mystery / suspense / psychological
side of things

Madlax #14 Madlax still alittle screwy over the data on Vanessa's download.
Yikes, she's good with a gun when she's herself, I'd HATE to see her
when she's TOTALLY out of control!!. Guess she'll have to go sleep it
off now

"Red Shoes. They went somewhere?" This another clue, perhaps?

Sniper Babe out of the game? Because Madlax is dead? Or has
Coursser had a change of heart?

Urd-lookalike ALSO in the search for Secondary, her agent's Nahal,
the one Margert told in her sleep if she takes her book, she'll kill her.

Carussor Dawn still after the book, trying to trick Margert to give it up Slick operator

"Vanessa, can I sleep with you?" Vanessa & Madlax's
relationship growns to friendship now Maybe...

"This thing doesn't go as well as I expected. The search for the truth,
that is." No DUH!! Buddy, what gave you THAT thought?

New piece of music for the battle? sequence... Madlax walking around in
the streets in her sleepwear as SniperBabe almost
takes her out. Just as all looks bad, Madlax snaps back and dukes it
out with SniperBabe... Now was that 4-0 or 5-0? Either way,
SniperBabe's WAAAY behind the curve

"The talent is there." Another clue, perhaps?

Some implication there's connection between Madlax & Margeret
when they both request pasta

MORE! MORE!! (action sequences would be nice)

Madlax 15... I was beginning to go a little crazy waiting for it

So Madlax opens up alittle more to Vanessa; seems she doesn't remember much
before her 5th or 6th bday... she took the name Madlax as its the
only thing she can remember

Elinor joins Margeret at her school... AS A STUDENT!!
Fills that unfiorm VERY nicely

Nahal comes back, she's found Secondary, and she's found
someone who can use 'the talent'

We get to meet Fliday in person... yeah, CREEPY bastard, like that
insect you found crawling along the wall...

Closest action scenes we get with madlax are her letting off at an ad hoc
firing range... meh, no emotion as she practices firing with one and two
hands.

Madlax takes another chance with the data while Vanessa's
sleeping... the girl-child gets a name too, Reticia, and it seems Madlax
is fake. Margeret goes into seizures simultaneously as Madlax
I DON'T think this is a coincidence here, ppl

I'm PRAYING for more answers soon...

#16 Enfan supplying arms to both sides of the conflict, and intentionally keeping the fighting going.
Also, high-ranking officers on both sides of the conflict are part of Enfan.
So what does Enfan gain in the deal? Now THERE'S the million dollar
question of the series. Flashback to prev jobs Madlax did: Mcnicol
and his recollection of how he was manipulated his entire life.

Margeret meets with Dawn to get some answers out of him. Secondary seems
to give her wierd dreams in her presence -- no DUH! little lady. Are
they recollections of her in Gazth-sonika? Or perhaps someone elses?

Madlax to Vanessa: SSS will help her get her info to Nafrece to break Enfan's
control of information here. I rather like the way Vanessa thinks: she'll
put a password on the data, only one she knows, and she'll accompany Madlax.
Ohkay....

Unfortunately, their contact has other ideas than transmitting the data.

Pistol Madlax uses is a P-210, in case anyone's interested. Anyone got specs?

Again, Madlax doesn't keep count of her kills, but she'll add
their erstwhile contact to the list... seems he has other ideas
NO, THEY'RE NOT DEAD!!! Are they?? connection between
Madlax and Reticia? Is it an image of her past self, perhaps?

Waking up, Madlax's in something white and skimpy and.... red shoes.
Fliday comes in for a visit, trying to push her into that spot to reveal
where Secondary is. Just when Madlax is about to touch the truth of
being human.... seems Madlax wanted to be normal, but Fliday took it
from her

ACTION TIME!!!! Short and sweet, nothing
really spectacular... die, die, jump around, explosions, the eye trick
again. Madlax is pinned down when Vanessa decides to jump into the
fray, pulling trigger, and Margeret wakes up with tears in eyes

Now WHAT the heck just happened?!?!?!
