If you like Hellsing and Trigun, I think you'll like this series. Plus from what I've seen and heard, it is also based on the playstation game which looks badass too (saw an amvid of it) Its a bit hard to describe what is going on but I'll just paste what a friend of mine said::
Basically this girl's mother was killed and now the agency is after her. Her body guard is one of her mother's friends, but he was killed by the agency- now armed with a bunch of fudgie weapons, being bullet proof, and his enemies are really ugly test tube babies- it is weird and dark.
Now the main dead dude, who's name is Grave yet when he was alive it was Brandon, seems to kick ass and I love his weaponry. Especially his carrying case that almost looks like a casket plus his guns are almost like Alucard's. The first eps really doesn't even get the chance to explain much so hopefully as the eps are released, it'll get better. Grave's looks to me are between Vicious from Bebop and someone else who's name escapes me at the moment.

Nice, they're making it into an anime. I've played the PS2 game. I loved it's action, and the character design... the designer of Trigun really outdid himself with some of art used in the game. Good stuff, it's going to make for a good series.
and someone else who's name escapes me at the moment.
The guy with the Neon suit from Trigun?

AHHH! Lucky you!!! The game looks so badass but sadly I don't have a PS2, only PS (but would be nice if they would release the game for PS). Its funny cause a friend also pointed this out to me about the creators of the anime as well::
looking up staff stats and now understand why GunGrave reminds me so much of Trigun- by the same company, producer, script writer, and designer. The producer: Hideki 'Henry' Goto, also did Hellsing.
Thats just too awesome!!!!
Also my friend said that she heard somewhere that Pioneer (which goes by a different name now) supposedly has picked it up but I haven't heard anything regarding this yet.
So far its up to eps 4 and it just keeps getting better

YEAH! Good thinking! In a way he does, just that Neon needed longer hair.

I caught ep 1, and yeah... Hellsing, among others, written all over it.
I'm beginning to wonder if I should add it to my 'To Get' list...

Not sure how many are still following this anime but all I can say is WOWZERS!!!!!!! Eps. 13 really threw me for a loop, as disturbing as the soon to be pairing will be. Then again I should've put two and two together when I saw Mika's and Maria's last name the same as Big Daddy's. *shudders*
But man, oh man! Its been building up lately and I think the next eps is when we see Brandon's demise.

Defintely got better when they got back to the history of what happened. I understand Brandon and what he did, must be in alot of pain, but he was still an asshole to Maria.
anyway, im watching this one closely.

Yeah I agree about his actions towards her but I think that doing what he's been doing for so long, kinda brainwashed him. He didn't seem like his normal self like he use to be in the beginning. At least he's not quite the heartless bastard like what Harry is.
I do dread to see what is going to become of Brandon but I look forward to when Grave kicks some ass on getting revenge.
I looked on the japanese site and they are working on a Gungrave OD game, which has at least Grave and Mika, and if you can believe it, Sherry (yes, Harry's woman), and some other new characters. It would be nice if eventually they would animate that one too, the game sounds pretty interesting from what I could translate of it.
Now to wait
patiently for my Gungrave game.

True, so true. Its just sad that he wasn't allowed to have anybody in his life to actually love. And to me, loving from a distance doesn't count!! *frumps*
Then again, it is taboo for anyone to be happy and in love in anime. (DAMN THEM!!!!!!!!!!
)

Yeah they did. In fact, eps 12 freaked me out with what Brad Wong did to himself. I just didn't think that Brandon would be going through such a HUGE change in appearances, but then again, its what they showed of him on the game. I wouldn't have minded to have seen the game version of Brandon before he got the hair cut. But they only show the past clips of Brandon right before he dies so he already has short hair. Yeah, loyalty is a real kicker, at least HE was trying to follow in Big D's footsteps unlike the greedy bastard Harry is. UGH! Eps 13. still got to me, especially poor Randy.

I won't say who shoots him, but wardove told me that the raw for #14 came out this weekend and told me how things go. ARGH! I hope the sub is out this week, if it hasn't been released already.
I also won't say where he gets shot at but believe me, its not pretty and its really harsh too. Poor guy. And to think that his body didn't turn into a grease spot on the pavement, Brandon has a pretty long fall. Of course though, #14 ends right when he gets shot.
Damn cliffhangers!!!!!!!!
On a happier note, I got my PS2 Gungrave in the mail yesterday and its pretty cool. A never ending supply of bullets and the animation is really good, just sad to see that its only 6 stages long but I'm sure it takes a good bit of practice to actually get that far and survive......so to speak.

Eps. 14
Sooo good yet sooo sad!! And just the whole feel of this eps was just kind of a downer. Brandon just exuded sadness throughout the whole eps. AND!!!! We get to see Brandon and Harry when they were little. I think that they also were giving hints out in this::
I will say this is kinda spoilerish, hence why I'm doing this::
#1. Brandon wanting to go to visit their friends grave, also, he not allowing Harry to buy the graveyard I think cause he didn't want it to have anything to do with Harry's greed/money or anything to do with the Syndicate. It was untouched, something to keep in the past of what was before everything changed.
#2. Brandon thinking back on their childhood, as well as them visiting their orphanage and thinking about the white sheet, and what it meant to them. Except it also gives a meaning when the sheet got stuck in the tree.
I know there was something else I picked out but I can't think of it right now. I just wished Brandon would've caught on to Harry's dirtyness before this came about, but then again, we wouldn't have a storyline if that were the case. *sighs*
Its like it was building up for things to come, of what has happened at the end of this eps. If I were Brandon, I would've pulled the trigger w/out thinking twice. Just my heart went out to him when he was nearly sobbing cause he couldn't make up his mind what he should do.
And I know I said it before and I'll say it again, Harry has turned into a COMPLETE NUTJOB as of late. The crazed look on his face *shudders*
The only thing that irks me, is that they need to say how long its been in each eps. From the time when the new guy was apointed to when Brandon and Harry were at the beach, 3 mos have went by. And in the raw eps #15, Grave/Brandon's hair is long and grey. Now how in the hell can his hair even change color if he's dead??? Unless having to change out the blood in the body makes a difference in the appearance of the character, I don't know, I just hope that they explain some shit soon!!!!
And if you look hard enough in #12, when Harry was talking to Dr.T in the lab, you will see that Dr. T was looking at a blueprint of Grave's casket design. I picked that up after I watched the 2nd time around.
I know I'm rambling on but this series just has me hooked.

I agree about the animation to the game, it blew me away. Sure you only see Grave's back but who cares, the art is still good. And I say screw those who I read their reviews about the game. Perhaps its just the girl in me but I think its just badass and who cares if it only has 6 stages, you gotta bust your ass to even get that far!! Hell, stage 3 Chinatown is kicking my ass!! Its so hard to get anywhere with those Big MOFO's barreling you down with those rocket launchers.
What sucks for me is that I don't have a memory card yet for my PS2 so I can't save where I left off
Which means I have to start ALL OVER AGAIN!!
But thats okay, I can get alot of practice and build up my lives as well as earning special attacks since it seems like I'm going to need it.
Have you completed the game yet? I'm wondering just how hard it will be at the end.
