Although this series was released in year 2000, it's my new favourite comedy/sci-fi anime.

Our heroine Miyu, was left alone in Japan, after her parents went to America to work at NASA. She was told to stay at the house of a friend of the family. Well she was told that it's the big house with a fantastic view on the town. When she arrives she realizes that in reality it's a buddhist temple, and an top of that, the friend of the family Mr Saionji decides to go to India to train, so he leaves Miyu alone with his son Kanata.
And if it weren't enough a spaceship crashes into the temple, carrying an alien baby and his not so capable sitter pet. :-D Oh, and to make things worse the baby has very interesting psychic powers. :-D

I've found this anime very entertaining. It's perfect for relaxation. :-D

Caught the first ep of this series... euh, okay on the humor part.
Not sure if I want to waste the time and bandwidth to pick up the rest.
Does it (eventually) evolve a definite storyline, or they do a slice-of-life
ep by ep run for the whole thing?

Well, there are aliens and space ships in it, so I think I can say sci-fi, but it's nothing like for example Crest of the Stars or Vandread.
Well, just get a few episodes and you will see. :-D

Hellfire:

As for a storyline, it mainly rotates around Miyu, Kanata and the alien baby (his name is Ruu) and they relationship to eachother, and how they help Ruu and his friend to survive on Earth until they manage to get home.
But to answer your question, until now, I only saw a little more than a half of this series and I can say that if you miss a few episodes, it won't be a problem. So you could say, they really show a slice-of-life episode by episode, but they manage to progress the story at the same time too.
