Eureka 7

Wai, wai! I get to start a new topic!
Well, right off the bat, it looks like the producers of the series said to themselves, what's hip and cool these days? High speed cars, snowboarding,
giant robots, transforming giant robots, cute girls with interesting hair and eye colors, mysterious energy sources, and of course, the lad chasing after the dreams of his father (or sister)...
Let's put them all together in _one_ series!
So, we've got mecha surfing(!) on some kind of strange light particles in the
atmosphere of this planet, the mecha can transform into cool aerodynamic
ground vehicles, the main character's a snot-nosed kid (literally!), and is the custodian of the supercharged drive for the original mecha all other sky surfing mech are based off of (the drive developed by his father), which may
have a mind of its own, and is probably of alien nature. It's pilot, aforementioned cute girl with interesting hair and eye colors, is probably not human either, and asserts that she needs the boy, or it doesn't work.
The mecha, of course, what were you all thinking?
Okay, leaving such absurdities aside as sky-surfing transforming mech, I am curious to see more of this series. Certainly, I want to see what kind of world-building job they did for the series, it looks like young Renton's fallen in with a group of resistance types, fighting against the military. The
why's and the wherefore's have of course not yet been explained. His father, and his sister (who left home several years ago), certainly are connected to this "Gekko State"
