FullMetal*Panic!

Was gonna go OT on the AIR thread since didn't feel like doing a new thread of an old anime... But I'll just make its own thread anyways. It might be revived when BOTS3 comes out (next year?)

So I finished watching BOTS2 also. Pretty good. Both COTS and BOTS2, imo, are just as good. BOTS wasn't as good cuz it didn't have enough Jinto-Lafiel focus. One thing I noticed, there are SO much talking in these series. That's something that made BOTS feel slow at times since I thought the Bebous brother's conversations were boring and they talked a lot. Also, the battle sequence in BOTS (with the excessive mines) dragged a bit.

The other battles in COTS and BOTS2, I enjoyed. The other dialogue I enjoyed too, especially Spoor's conversations. I thought Spoor is some invincible Admiral that was gonna pull a miracle out of her pretty ass (at the end of BOTS2). But everyone'll throw aside logic and make sacrifices for the Princess .

The politics of this war, this universe, is interesting. The Abh, an advance race of arrogant humans, expands its empire, makes its neighbors nervous, and war ignites (sounds like WW2 huh?). They're such bastards but can't help but to like them. Maybe I'm just shallow and admire their beauty. Oh yea, the love story is cute too.

One of the reasons I became interested/found out about this series is cuz of Lafiel's voice actress, Ayako KAWASUMI. She's one of the few voices I can recognize and I like her in Mahoromatic and Samurai Champloo.

Need to update my anime list. Can't wait for the 4th series, BOTS3.

Crest of the Stars and BOTS1 and 2 were one of the first anime series that I saw a few years ago. Since then, I rewatched them countless times, because I still think this is the best sci-fi saga I've ever seen.
It's true, that there is less action in it, compared to other sci-fi animes, but you won't notice it. It is compansated through the interaction between the characters and an interesting story.

Well, I liked the first and second series better. It's true that they talked more in the second series, but the people from the empire have such unique personalities that they conversations were always interesting and sometimes funny to hear. Just one example, the Bebous brothers. You always ask yourself, are they geniuses or just simply crazy.

And yeah, there is not much about Jinto and Laffiel in BOTS1 but the entire BOTS2 is about them so......., I think any anime lover will find something in this series that he or she likes.

pointy ears and ships engaged in massive battles .. whats not to love in this series. <G>

Oh wait the crappy english DVD translation done by a dickhead who doesn't care for the series.

So we have .. COTS,BOTS,BOTS2.
Then there is LCOTS .... a small story about Lafiels father and the catp.. captain (mom)
and a couple of OVA's

And in BOTS 3 Jinto will be reclaiming his solar system.

A most excellent anime. Just don't watch the english dub of COTS.

DON'T EVER WATCH THE ENGLISH DUB. (It'll make you gouge your own guts out. it soooooo bad soooooo soooooo bad. It's so bad it can be used as a form of torture. can we make it sound any more like someone reading from a script??? it gets so bad they actually stutter as they misread. o_O)

Watch the series, then get the manga.

As for the rumors about whether or not Banner of the Stars III will be an OVA, all I can tell you is that shipping information for Volume 1 has been posted on several websites. Since an air date hasn’t been announced, most people are assuming that they’re going to release direct to DVD.

It's going to be a 3 eps /30 minutes OVA ... vol 1 wille be released August 26th.

I've seen the raw web trailer. And I just saw a torrent that I was hoping to be a subbed version of it.

But it crashes my computer when I try to play it with VLC 0.8.2. Complete lock up, tried it twice and had to hit the reset button twice. Didn't bother to try any other player to run it and deleted it...

It worked here. looks good, Japanese DVD Vol 1 on sale Aug 26th
