I'm wondering how it is- supposed to be good for those who like BOTI/Berserk, ect...

(both the anime and manga have been recently announced for the US...)

After watching the first six episodes I think it'll be a good series.
I like the music and the animation. The story looks a bit simple, but after watching only six episodes we can't be sure, but despite that I like it.

You wrote that people compare it to Berserk. Well, it was a long time since I saw it, but I have a feeling Basilisk'll be far away from Berserk storywise.
Sure there is plenty blood in both series, but it's not enough for me to compare them.

Anyway if you like to watch Ninjas with extreme skills fighting eachother then you'll like this series. And who knows, maybe the story holds a few surprises too.

K. Well, I think the comparasions had to do with adult content, extreme fighting, ect... I don't think any title could pull off a Berserk-plot that isn't Berserk

Any more comments would be appreciated, and I love spoilers. :-D

and I haven't really bothered to check the rest out..

Hmmm.. Ninja Scroll is a bit too much for me... having violence as a part of a storyline is okay. Violence being the storyline is something else...

err.. when the violence is more interesting than the characters... I can leave it. :)

I'm enjoying the show. I like the character designs.

The two main characters, Oboro-dono and Gennousuke-dono, the leaders of their respective clans, interest me. Oboro-dono is trusting and naive, trusting the members of her clan implicitly and seemingly unable to understand treachery. I like Gennousuke-dono even more. He seems completely loyal to both Oboro-dono, his fiancee, and his clan but there are moments that I get a feeling there's something major about him that we're missing.

The ninja powers of the clans are fairly novel to me. You've got the old man with rubber limbs, the guy that looks like a spider and spits out really, really sticky stuff, the huge, obese man that turns into a hot air balloon, and the slug guy.

If you're going to try it, watch to at least the second episode. The second episode is where Obero-dono and Gennousuke-dono are introduced.

I love in the opening where it says, "To my beloved; prepare to die." No, not because I'm morbid but how it describes how family is most important to the Japanese. These peoples' loyalties are to their clans and I see the lovebirds killing eachother at the end. I have a hunch that it'll end like Romeo and Juliet, both dead because they don't want to live without eachother.

P.S. Jae, love your avatar of Yuuko from xxxHOLIC. She's definately a character and a half. My current wallpaper is one of her, Watanuki, Sakura and Syaoran.

Just saw the first eppisode, We were all like "OMG we gotta get more of that!"

I was thoughy impressed with the artwork, and the plot. Well that was very well written. But It remains to be seen if the rest is as good.

Thanks for all of the input! :-D

So it's a freaky-ninja romantic enemies deal.
Slug guy... yummmmmm and hot-air balloon guy. Kinda killing my ninja ideal here
