FullMetal*Panic!

Hello! I haven't posted anything in a BIG while (not much free time) but I still lurk around, and as I couldn't find a thread on this anime, I decided to make one.

(no spoilers of note below, you get to know these things in 2 episodes)

while this may not seem a very original story, I have to say I'm really enjoying watching this anime... 3 eps are out, I recommend checking at least the first one (it's a great first episode )

I don't like very much the character design (especially Solty her/itself), and the mecha design (in CG) isn't really detailed, but everything else is good.

Hmm, robot girl. You think Roy and Softy's relationship is more a lovers' relationship or it's gonna stay father-daughter?

If it's gonna be like Chobits, then I'd rather not watch it. Romantic relationships with a robot who has the understanding of a child is just too loli for me. But if it's like Mahoromatic (she more mature than he is) or Saber Marionette (he's a father figure in the end), then this could be great.

I'll stick it on my to-watch list. =)

Right now I guess we really won't know how it will end, but Roy looks really mature (he isn't very young after all, and definitely isn't the loser-type character like many many anime protagonists I kinda despise), so I have great hopes for character development here.

I'd say it should end up as a father-daughter relationship, and if you haven't watched any episode I won't spoil the most obvious pairing... only time will tell if it keeps being a very enjoyable series (as with Black Cat, which started not as good as Solty Rei IMHO, but -as there are so many ways it could end up- it's way too early to judge it... I still remember the first Trigun episode, I didn't like it very much, but it became a great anime after all)

i have to say the anime is very realistic and I think they should of done the same with the characters.

and you are right, Roze is a cutie. If they made the anime more human like instead chibbi loli like, then she would of been a very hot anime girl that would of made guys sleep easier with a big cheesy smile in their faces.

Hmm the charadesign reminds my of My Hime
If there are any cool looking guys in this anime, i would probably watch it

Ep 4 was a bit slow, but the second half was pretty good...

The next episode is titled "Water Side Panic", and as they were talking about a "Bath-house" in the preview, there may be some fan-service I think Roze's voice was in the preview too, and that's great LOL
(I gotta say that Solty's outfit is a bit too tight, and they are showing her butt much more than her face >_<)

ok ok, seriously, the only male character of note till now is Roy, and I like the way he acts cool all the time thought I'm sure he'll develop in a "softer" and caring father-figure

Lets not hope too soft. .... Am I de only one who waits for Priss to show up in this anime ????

i saw the first episode (have yet to watch other 3); it was alright, nothing amazing, but a nice little watch

didn't originally plan on watching this, and i have LOTS to watch... might drop and pick up every 4 episodes (like i'm gonna do with mai-otome), since i can't make a decision

lol so I wasnt the only one thinking that they show her butt alot..

Heh I kinda like this serie... at the moment anyway...

The Solty after the electric-shock in ep 4 seem'd like another personality
(maybe the previous personality before she meet Roy..)

Its was more because she was pissed off that he was threatening the little girl (her screaming reactivated Solty. I'd wake up in a pissed mood as well if I was awoken from my slumber by those means. ).

At least she didn't have to spin around in her captain chair three times to switch into "kick ass mode".

That can't be a tight an outfit Solty is wearing. Its more like a paint on.

I find it interesting when Anime girls have dagger hair pointing out the side of thier heads, the plumage is movable.

Time for a new entry in the Rules of Anime. I don't recall that one being on my list. Just need a name for it.

Um... Mahoro-hairstyle? (or was it somewhere even before that?)

The "Mahoro hair" has been around for quite a while (mid 80's), so who knows.

I thought that was her back in ep1 when they went toe-to-toe with Solty.

So what, solty's the android equivalent of a catgirl? -- note how her bangs
move up and down -- tho her screaming 'I don't know why I'm doing this!!'
at the end of ep1 had me rolling wih laughter

I hope this doesnt end up like kurau or something else that some secret organization or the police (whatever) starts to hunt her cause they want her powers... for the greater good or what ever the reason they usually state..

hmm our head character seems to more and more open his heart to solty
im sure this is gonna end like her being his daughter but she had lost her memory and some weird doc gave her a super cyborg body..
