Witchblade...

I know I said I would stay clear from this but since I actually like some of Turners art (Fathom/Witchblade). Something made me watch this.

No, I didn't want to bring it up but this anime has revived my case of mammophobia. (c)2006

Anyway, pricking through the ehr.. balloons of this first annoyance it's actually interesting. (for a fist episode)

The scene is set in a post apocalyptic Japan somewhere in the near future.
Our soon to be blade wielder is a mother seemingly being hunted by a Welfare organisation (NSWF) that wants to take care of her daughter.
Eventually they get caught and after some drama they get separated.
Masane (Mom) ends up in jail where the first fight takes place.

It's not often that I see a freakazoid that gives me the creeps in a anime, I would say Gonzo has nice ideas about monsters.

But what I like about Masane in ass kick mode is that they turned her into a bloodlusty mother in law from hell and this is a good thing because after giving her such a fanserviced transformation I would be pretty pissed too.

Anyway ... monster bites the dust and she "escapes" to search for her daughter who managed to escape from NSWF being "helped" by a photographer.

Golly ... it's watchable and if they are able to get passed a monster of the week setup it has some potential.

It sounds like monster-of-the-week for the most part if it's gonna be longer than 13 episodes...

Tell me more if it gets better.

26 eps altogether... and Gonzo's behind the animation here, so we won't
be disappointed in that regard...

It was a first ep, and there's alot of backstory to be explained... like how
Japan got flooded like that, how Masane came into possession of the
Witchblade, what exactly happened 6 years ago, why is the NSWF after
Masane's daughter and why do they have such a tarnished reputation...

Hopefully story expectations shall be satisfied along with the other stuff...

..after an eternity, got a chance to watch ep 2!! There's something screwy with
the theory of how if you possess someone else's property, they in turn have
claim on you, but knowing the comic backstory of Witchblade... go figure.
Bit more of the backstory explained, like Null Point was where Witchblade
went nuts / was lost, and Masane is the new 'host' chosen...

...oh yeah, been awhile since I saw a series have a fa... er, overly plump
female char in the lineup

Next ep pls!

shoving out the door...
