Alright, got a intern here around 20'ish likes series likes action / horror and comedy. :)

The problem ... I quote: "Anime? is that like cartoons with tentacles and pokemon ?" *bangs head on desk*
Sigh we seem to have a virgin here, so what could I offer him without scaring him away.
I'm considering Hellsing, maybe a little GITS and later on Fumoffu.
Any suggestions to draw this soul to the light?

Get him to start off with a fairly serious anime.

Something like Gungrave, Trigun. Or maybe something short, like an OVA series. Maybe Interlude, Rescue Wings, Macross Zero, Yukikaze. Unfortunately Interlude, Macross Zero and Yukikaze may be a bit too cerebral for him.

Basically, don't show him any love comedy/harem/ecchi stuff until he sees that anime is not about loli harems, kiddy stuff and tentacle rape. That'd be my plan. But then again, I stopped trying to convert people a long time ago, I just let them wallow in their ignorance.

Meh.. just kill him now, why bother trying to correct his comfortable ignorance Tau?

Something simple like Initial D maybe? Just so we don't scare him away
on the first run? If we just wanted to show him how cerebral anime can
get (not to mention how lovely the ladies are) Noir is a possibility.

Scary stuff... Memories was probably the creepiest I've seen to date

maybe some old Gundam (Gundam 0083 or Gundam 0080) not Gundam seed. Akira is another good anime to start off with.

but that is me.
