...or vampir(ic) craze has hit Japan. Four girls from the same school have
never met before, yet a death of a fellow student brings them together
to a mysterious woman who says "You're all dead." Umm... yeaaaaaah...
Ep 1's hooked me, but the artstyle's rather grating, mostly because
everyone suffers from
Gaean Genetics.
Must see ep 2 ASAP!

#2 now correct me if I'm wrong, but 'contract' implies I've actually
SIGNED something, and that I was actually in control of my facilities
when I actually did that? Though it's got one hell of an escape clause...
you die
The back and forth between trying to get away from last night's bad date
and the repercussions on the four girls' sleep pattern the next day was alittle
jarring, but gives a pretty good sense what these four girls are going through.
Hopefully we move beyond basic training and into some serious action soon.
Wherever I have to sign up to learn how to high jump like THAT...

#6-7 talk about one hell of a carrot dangling to get the horse going.
The girls are shown 'what the future holds' if they succeed in their
'mission.' Talk about morbid... something like going to your own
funeral, quite literally
At least it's a sight better than what
happens if they quit or fail.
Meantime, another emotional rollercoaster as a new pretty boy's introduced,
and how his mother became one of those monsters when he was a tender
young lad. So what's up with his grandfather and the naked sparkly girl
on ice here?

#8 Nice emotional change of pace and things (almost) going back to normal.
Some nice interpersonal development as well with the four girls... I think
the expression is 'they're now really friends.' Also the first time they sung
that song when they were happy. Meh... I can only take so much emotional stuff...

#9-10 more pieces of the puzzle are revealed... the girls' 'handler' and Herve's
family have had a long-running feud between them, and the girls' new
bodies are their latest weapons; and of course, Herve's family's side wants
samples of them, of which Lise was the only sample they got, functional
of course. For some reason I got an Underworld vibe as to this whole
'preservation of the line' and 'breeding the next generation' stuff tossed
back and forth. Damn multigenerational curses and longrunning family feuds...

#11 still not much action in comparison, and all the girls are still struggling
to find their place in the world as they keep up with their other 'profession,'
with varying degrees of sucess. Meantime, Herve and his buddy are REALLY
getting close to the enemy; Herve for obvious reasons, his friend because
he's found True Love... Awwwww!
And Claire, Kate & Rachel look like
they're starting to get the hang of the newfound abilities of their bodies

#13 Yay! They got another two baaaad widdle doggies to put down...
and Kate does the Maverick Maneuver: ie. 'He's going vertical, so am I!'
Shoe-in for an Olympic record if she could qualify! Unfortunately, seems to
only happen at certain times of day or something tho with alittle practice...
especially for Rose. Herve and his split personality... (mis)treating Lise and
worrying about his own family... and weaseling out as much info out of Kate
and co. as possible. The guy's a total sleeze ball!

#14-15 Yay Again! Rose FINALLY figured out how to access those superpowers
of hers, and some more behind-the-scenes moves by Herve's family
and the girls' handler... which are somehow tied in with the school mistress
and Head of Grace... can the politics get ANY more convoluted?
Follows an emotional twanger for everyone involved as something
personal strikes everyone: Rachel's discovered by her gossipy friends
about her rendevous with an older teacher, Claire's brother commits
suicide and of course daddy's nowhere to be found, Rose is trying to track
down her wayward father, Kate gets the cold shoulder from Herve -- bastard
FINALLY shows his true colors when he threatens her with her hidden secret...
...least we get to see Herve go to pieces as the curse claims the 2nd last
female of his family. No Hanky For You!

#16 Things come to a head as Herve drags Kate out for more... heart to heart.
I still say given the choice between life and death, I'd take life anyday...
to hell with what he says is the 'truth' from his perspective. Nice little
battle sequence as Herve & Emillio take on the Handler, the Headmistress
and our quaterno... unfortunately there are... casualties. So Handler Girl
DID have emotions all this time... who would've thought.
Things are getting VERY interesting indeed!

#17-18 more secrets behind the scenes, and Herve takes things into
his own hands. Meh, I need alittle more action here and less emotional
philosophizing... and another character bites the dust, uh-oh...

#19 - 20 make that many more characters bite the dust... I have to admit
Kate & Paula's little scene had me screaming 'YURI ACTION!' the whole
time... but makes ya realize things are on boil now and there's no turning
back, or was it just cuz the series was coming to end... The Animus' mysterious
backers and motives are finally revealed, and it's a death-defying race
to the end, winner take all, and no need to say there isn't a prize for second place.

#21-22 Wham, bam, crash, boom, kill, maim... after the obligatory 'what
shall we do for our last night on earth?' romp. Let's just say the last scenes
started with a bang and didn't have the 'ran out of money' ending to it...
though I DO oddly feel a need to go to the florist afterwards.
...LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE!!!
