Code Geass is a mecha anime, created by CLAMP and directed by Goro Taniguchi. It is set in Japan, roughly 50 years in the future. The antagonist is a unified British empire based on the principle that France was crushed easily by Britain in the Seven Years' War, and thus the American Revolution never occured.

The heero is an individual named Lelouch "Lulu", who has a mysterious tie to the Britannia leadership and acquires a power to manipulate the minds of others. He decides to use this power to bring about a revolution.

With Geass, you've got a war story and then the characters go back to school. Brilliant combo ... where have we seen this before. <grin>

I get a vibe of V - for Vendetta from this show and thats because Lulu has a flair for drama and over-the-top acting. Maybe it's meant to be serious but the way it's played out, it's hilarious.
Strangely after most of the episodes you feel this strange craving for Pizza. :-P

imho don't miss it.

Started on this series after Black Lagoon.

Wasn't really feeling it initially, because of the character design and being yet another teenage school mecha anime, so I put it off for a couple of weeks.
Then out of curiosity I just watched ep 1, and it pleasantly suprised me.
For once, no Kira Yamato clone being the lead! :D
Though the Lancelot pilot comes close, the rest of the characters are rather interesting and funny.

It's a perfect match between the seyuu and Lelouch's overblown character! :-D

And now to order some takeaway pizza...

Damn ... Lulu could work for MIB...
Ep 14 a new fiend introduced and a old friend lost.
Pretty cool to see how this quest for vengeance is starting to consume him and others.

Started watching Code Geass it is okay so far (only 7 episodes into it) I like that is made by made by CLAMP and that has some good character deployment . I hope the later episodes are good.

It's not really made by CLAMP... CLAMP did the conceptual character designs. Said designs were reinterpreted by (the dude who did GaoGaiGar and Godanner, can't remember his name) and that's what we see in Geass.

Finally a show where the main character is not some wuss. Sure he is evil but I still hope he will be the winner at the end. :D But thats not all I like in this anime. For a long long time the plot of the animes could not really surprise me. I mean if I gave it some thought I could figure it out, but not this time. The last plot twist was totally unexpected. It's really exiting how the story unfolds. So I can only recommend this anime.

Not evil ... more driven or ruthless...
