I was wondering if anyone was familiar with Satoshi Kon's newest animated feature "Paprika". I never even heard of it until I read that it was snubbed by the Oscar committee for a nomination in the Best Animated Film category for this year. The movie has notable voice talents, such as Megumi Hayashibara (Ayanami Rei - "Evangelion", Faye Valentine - "Cowboy Bebop"), Akio Ohtsuka (Andrei Kalinin - "Full Metal Panic!") and Koichi Yamadera (Spike Spiegel - "Cowboy Bebop").

The movie looks pretty cool. It's a science fiction film, based on Yasutaka Tsutsui's 1993 novel "Paprika", about a female detective who investigates criminal cases by entering the dreams of her subjects. The film was directed by Satoshi Kon and animated by Madhouse Studios. The music was composed by Susumu Hirasawa, who also composed the soundtrack for Kon's "Millenium Actress" and anime series, "Paranoia Agent."

You can visit the movie's English website (I love the trailer on this one):
http://www.sonyclassics.com/paprika/

And Japanese website (this one features the trailer with all the voice talent, no subs though):

It looks sureal, but I'm definetly gonna check it out when I get the chance. Enjoy everyone! 8) :D
