Anime / Manga censored....

Now I oppose censorship, I didn't buy the first print of the GITS US manga because they removed the naughty bits.. imho you shouldn't mess with artwork and should be able to view it as the artist intended it.

I think it's up to the reader or viewer to determine what is naughty.
I am a fan of Shirow's artwork and yes heaven forbid he also draws erotic scenes.

Now Funnymation announced the following:

“FUNimation Entertainment is known for releasing the titles we license in their original, uncut form, as their creators intended. However, after viewing the unedited as well as the Japanese broadcast edit of the series “Dance in the Vampire Bund,” we have determined the series contains controversial elements which, when taken out of context, could be objectionable to some audiences.

Now I couldn't care less about DitVB, I struggled past the first few episodes only to find a lolicon being rubbed in with sun-lotion? and golly poo I think I saw a nipple ...

Would this be the reason to censor it? maybe,

I can only assume it is backlash of the Handley case. (read it and laugh your ass off)

Now if you happen to like DitVB would you buy a censored version or would you boycott the release and hope they get the message.

DitVB is somewhere at the bottom of "things to do" right now, but I would
agree about the comment about GITS, as I thought the Dark Horse first print was
it all till I got the 'uncen'd' version. Mind you, it's a page and a half of
what could be politely termed 'less than family-friendly reading material,' but
the phrase "this is such bulls**t!" just says it all.

Well I wouldn't be happy living in a place where the nanny gestapo is delivering your mail and seemingly you can get sued over something that by law isn't (wasn't) illegal.
