One must say that the ruskies certainly know how to put on a show.

Thrustvectoring.. such a lovely tjing, but took long enough. LOL

About 14-15 years anyway (and not just the ruskies).

It helps alot in low speed flight and take off, but the issue appears in high speed maneuvering with thrustvectoring where the lifespan of an airframe is reduced by half or more because of "unnatural" forces. thats not something that can be addressed for a while since strenght add additional weight. Unless we eliminate the pilot. The human body cannot withstand the forces anyway and reduction in body size and mass because the auxillary systems to sustain life wil be unnecessary. The weight savings would go a long way in stronger construction of the airframe.

CHECKRIDE PLEASE!!

Meh, I side with the analysts who ho-hum at TV-capable fighters and ask
seriously whether it's any use if your internal fuel load is no more than
an airshow load and your external pylons aren't loaded for bear.
