i found this old book filled with cocktails that has some old but for me classics

Did you chaps know .. it's possible to make a nice cocktail with absinthe.
(if you don't have absinthe use mint flavoured mouthwash <g>)

it's called the absinthe friend

1 part Absinthe (or perod/ricard/mouthwash if you can't get your hands on Absinthe)
a dash of angosura(bitter) a dash of sugar syrop (home made)
1 part gin
and 5 crushed ice cubes ........ then shake it ....

Now most of you might wonder for how long .... that's easy when ice is involved, until water beads on the outside of the shaker (condensates ??? ) and use a strainer when you pour it in a chilled glass.

god you got to love the odd ones like this ..
