Question about Anime Series

Post by idtaminger »

I just got into this anime, so I'm sort of lost here. I read there are multiple anime series for Full Metal Panic? What are the names for the series? And are they diff series, or diff seasons of one series, cuz I'm kinda getting mixed info on that....

I watched season 1, I believe, the series w/ the whole Gauron arc. Since I see you're not allowed to link to d/ls, could someone just give me the names of any groups who are subbing the other series/seasons? That's allowed, right?

And there are 2 diff manga too? What's the diff between those? And are both ongoing or what? Man this anime/manga is confusing. The first time I've seen a series w/ so many diff versions.

im no expert on FMP, but i can tell you that the series you saw is series 1. the second series is called fumoffu, it has no importance to storyline, it is just the episdes that were removed from the series when translated to english. they are about the relationship of kaname and sousuke. i am unaware of the name of the third series, and i do not know of the second manga. i do know the manga has fumoffu and the series in it, with no seperation.

Do you know the names of any groups who may be subbing series 2, 3? And plus, are those for sale in the U.S.? Series 2 & 3?

Oh, and they say series 3 is going to be based on "the End of Day by Day"? How is that diff from the regular manga? In terms of timeline, is it before or after or during the regular manga? And is it on sale in English in the U.S. by any chance?

ahhh....so many questions!

EDIT: And how many volumes are there to the manga? I heard all the mangas were completed? At what point does the story end? Is there a site w/ the ending/spoilers? I wanna know how the relationships pan out....

Novels? As in actual literature? W/ lotsa words? Those kinds of novels?

That's interesting. I wonder how you dramatize a mecha fight in a novel...

I did read it actually....

"Things You can't.
Give direct links to the files.
Post Websites that have links to the files
and most of all DON'T BEG FOR THEM !!! "

Names of fansub groups doesn't fall into any of those categories really.

But in any case, one last question. The last novels, the ones that weren't covered in series 1 or 2....what are the titles for those?

oh, and Kashim, I'm a girl, btw. But in any case thnx for your patience and help. :)

Kashim, I don't think Fumoffu was taken out of Original series. The first series was by Gonzo I think and the other Kyoto if I am not mistaken

well, if you think so, yer prolly right. i really am not a reliable source of information. "the only thing more dangerous than an idiot is a resourceful idiot." i had heard that quote somewhere... anyway, i just figured the series were interwoven but ADV seperated em when they translated the first one or sumthin. i know they were interwoven in the manga. :D my bad.

@idtaminger
Anime:
- Full Metal Panic (licenced by ADV) -- Gaulun arc
- Full Metal Panic Fumoffu (licenced?) -- school comedy
- Full Metal Panic: Second Raid -- no confirmed date yet, but stay tuned!
Manga:
- Full Metal Panic Vol1-6 (ADV Manga) -- I think in Japan it's up to Vol8
Novels:
- Refer to the sticky in this section of the board.

PS alot of us here believe in supporting the legit anime distros, so
avoid obvious bootleg copies like the ones on eBay... just a friendly hint ;) -H
