Hm... I wonder... There could be a very easy way to obtain information about Mithril without even paying.
What if Gauron or someone dressed up as a bartender, traced down Mao and made her drunk. Think about it, he would ask her about stuff and she would answer them nicely without outbursts. Interesting. Gauron could steal specs. of M9 and sell them to foreign countries. He could also figure out where the Danaan is. All by getting Mao Drunk enough.

Mao is way too confident for this type of information extraction.
Usually it takes a spineless wimp, underdog character or somebody who has a gripe against the organisation. (Leo?)

But since Gauron is involved, he probably would resort to intimidation or blackmail.

The four motivators of a spy are the MICE factors, that being
Money -- Mithril pays well, but like Gaulun said about the guys
in Mithril's Tech department...
Ideology -- kill terrorists, keep the world safe. How much more simple
can you get?
Conscience -- aka blackmail. One of Gaulun's favorites I'm sure

Ego -- possibly, Mithril agents aren't angels unto themselves.

Not always HF the Israeli guy thought he was going on vacation next thing he knows a bunch of Commandos are beating him and dragging him on to a israeli ship.

besides man, i dont think mao could get drunk enough to dish out that kinda info. she drinks so much, her alchohol tolerance must be extreme!!
and bribe her with sex? doubt it, shes got all sorts of men aboard the sub to choose from.

blackmail? shed kill ya on the spot instead of wasting time. and if worst came to worst, she'd act all helpless and kurz would save her!

I don't know what Kurz can do. What if Gauron also made Kurz drunk? I think that would be pretty easy, seeing his past experiences with alcohol. Though Mao, I agree, is much smarter to let down her guard anywhere, especially around strangers. You can also see in the beginning of Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU, Kurz is sneaking up on her, and when he lunges for the execution of his devious plan, Mao stuffs her fist in his face. Perfect timing, and she was typing on the comp. Not bad lol. Mao doesn't really have any weaknesses, except alcohol, but she also knows when to be serious, so she's covered that as well. She is a battle hardened veteran of war.
