I also found Sousuke's wolfing down Kaname's leftovers funny. Well, Melissa and Kurz were with Tessa, so he had to deal with his own cooking, namely ration bars. And who knows if the other 2 SRT members are good cooks.

The haircut scene was everything I could have hoped for. The part I loved best was Kaname telling Sousuke that he was the only person she trusted. That made his new orders all the more painful and his reaction all the more understandable. He takes his missions seriously and her words were the highest praise he could get. She didn't say "Mithril is the only one I trust," but "you [Sousuke] are the only one I trust." She's saying he's the best bodyguard there is.

Yes, Gates is perverted. He's beyond perverted, in a class of his own.

Sousuke must have his own version of malletspace when it comes to weapons. That's the only thing I can think of.

Regarding Melissa's advice for Sousuke to think about his future, if he decided he wanted to leave Mithril, I doubt he could. He's too valuable. Only pilot of Arbalest and he's got too much info about Mithril in his head.

Gates is... strange. I wonder though, asides from doing naughty things with images of small furry animals, did he molest the twins? When he found out they escaped, that's what the conversation sounded like. No wonder they're so twisted.

And just how stupid were those guards? When you're in charge of guarding something very important, and two cute girls walk up to you and start making out with you for no reason at all, at least have it in your head that there's a chance you're not QUITE as smooth as James Bond because a bullet is most likely headed your way.

I hope in the next episode Sousuke kicks some sh*t around by yelling at Wraith. ^^

So after 5 episodes of little Kaname and even less S/K romance, we finally get a motherload of the squishies. But while that may have been the most heartwarming episode of FMP to date, I suspect the next one will be the most heartbreaking.

Must be bad karma. If ever in the FMP world something truly touching happens, and Sousuke doesn't immediately screw it up, it usually means that something absolutely horrible is about to happen.

I don't think they'd be that resistant. Especially since it seems that they were just playing along for their own agenda. Or at least Gauron's.

....I miss my FMP! TSR action stuff... Sap and sickness in one.... ohkay.

Yeah, finally Kaname gets the scene(s) she so richly deserves... and yeah,
they push the SxK stuff further along. The Kaname / Kyouko stuff leading up
to the haircut was a crackup... but IMO after 5 straight action eps, it
seemed like such a letdown.

BTW, wasn't Mithril supposed to be in reference to something from ancient Ireland?
Or was that de Danaan?

The Twins / Lovers / Assassins... DEFINATELY tops on the 'do NOT f*k with...
literally and figuratively' list. Never mind what Gates... does to them in
his spare time. Really adds to their overall screwed up nature.

Blueno 'interrogation'... creepy, but lets ya know betrayals are NOT to be taken lightly.
Considering this day and age of 'probation' and 'reform of criminal intent'
being handed down as sentences....

...closing off with a Sousuke REALLY pissed off scene... so much
for his reputation as an emotionless killing machine. He DOES have
emotions... buried somewhere

Guess we'll just have to see where things lead. Like I said, after so
much action and thrills this ep's such a letdown

Mithril is a LOTR reeference.
Amalgam is a poke at Mithril
the Tuatha De Dannan is the ancient Celtic race

my favorite line was probably "i've always wondered where you keep these things"

This episode is totally wonderful because you get to see kaname and sosuke interact in ways that have been horribly absent in the past few episodes. I love the way they still get flustered at each other despite their level of trust and comfortablity. ("okay, now we're going to rinse it!!!")

the hair cutting scene left me grinning and my heart thumpin!

I can't believe they're taking him away! how utterly horrible!!! this episode is a huge turning point for sousuke!! he HAS to reexamine his priorities to everything now. Huge!! gi-mungous! will he obey quietly??

what the heck was that dancing doll that covered gates'...dingdong and boy am i disturbed about that glance into his rooms....kittens!!??

In the novel, it goes a little bit more into the details of Sousuke's motivations, but I think it's still apparent in the anime. In the novel, when he gets back to his apartment, he makes a decision that he was going to work hard to balance his life in Japan and with Mithril because he knew that Kaname trusted him and was counting on him. And then immediately after, he gets the rug pulled out from under him and it all falls to pieces. You can sympathize with his frustration.
