Hmmm, when did this happen?

Post by Eidolon »

I know I've been AWOL from the forums for ages now, and just started poking around again now that TSR is out, but when did this site get added to the (english) official FMP! site?

http://www.full-metal-panic.com/topsecret/fansites.php

That's pretty impressive. 8)

Actually, right from day one when the ADV site got launched.
Ghost, registered here as forum member and he was a ADV representative.

And before that, Jae's site was ranked #1 at Google and was afaik the only English site for a long time.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Jae, our favorite Dictator's Full Metal Panic! website.
:-D
Ya, this site rocks. Even compared to other fansites of other popular series, the collection of picutres, scans, screencaps itself is staggeringly impressive. Along with other info and an active forum... ICHIBAN DESU! 8)

Too bad there aren't more better quality Full Metal Panic! series sites. There are a few, but this is the probable best one, but there are too few others that are close to comprehensive.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems fansites dedicated to single titles have been in massive decline.

Everybody can set up a fan community now, or try to. Communities seem smaller and have less momentum to keep going. from the very start, this forum was engineered with that in mind

So I think highly active, well-known fan communities for a single title have become rare, since the large general sites are easier to remain a part no matter what you're watching. And google makes it easy to search for pics directly, instead of tracking down a good image gallery. Thus, few large FMP sites.... I don't even seem to see as many character shrines as I would have expected in, say, 1999... even though FMP supposedly does very well in sales. It just hasn't translated into a large english web presence.

My opinion is that we're a bit anachronistic here, which sort of themes with the horribly outdated site and the patched-together Raggedy Ann appearance. I'm happy the forum has been in good use for almost 3 years now and really appreciate the kind words

I still mourn the passing of the classic anipike...
The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

A forum post should be like a skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.
