M9's of Mithril

Just how many M9's does Mithril have? I'm not sure if they have a large quantity or not. If M9's are about 10 years ahead of the rest of the world technology, I don't think there should be a lot, but I find some sites that I interpret as saying there are quite a few. I know this is totally random, but I think it's something I need to know. There could be a handful, teams, or quite of productions of them. They are the frontline AS of Mithril though, making the M6 obsolete.
Also, I know there is one ARX-7 Arbalest. It's a prototype, so shouldn't there be more prototypes? I don't know what happened to Bunny Morauta. Maybe it's the only, partly 100% successful prototype...

Bunny is dead. Maybe ARX-7 is the only prototype he managed to complete before his death.

How did Bunny die? I don't think they mention that though. So, since he/she died, there shouldn't be any prototypes like ARX, I didn't realize before that Bunny was so important to Mithril, especially in AS.

sj4iy, did you get that from the anime? I just want to find more things on it.

My guess is sj4iy got it from the novels. A group called Boku-Tachi is translating them. Good reads, in my opinion. The translated novels pick up where the original anime series ended and I think they're on the most recent book, but don't quote me on it. They've only translated one short story, that of Cinderella with Sousuke cast as the Fairy Godmother. I'll let your imagination take it from there.
There should be a FAQ about the translations somewhere around here, either in non-combatants or veterans.

Yeah, I've only just begun to read the novel translations. I also understand, I think, that the novels themselves aren't even finished yet, so that's good. I wish the novels came out in English, that would be the best.

Judging by the size of de Danaan, there's probably no more than 12 AS
suits max. However if we're talking all of Mithril (that being more than
simply the WestPac forces) then it's possible more do exist... or are in production.
A source you may want to check out KashimArbalestAS, is the FMP! Mission
Book translated by ADV. The M6 technically isn't obsolete, just mainstay of
Western forces. The M9, according to them, is undergoing official testing
by the US Army, so it sounds like it's out of prototyping / in LRIP

No, it was never mentioned in the anime...as stated previously, I got it from the novels (specifically, Owaru Day by Day). So we'll see if we learn anything about him in the upcoming anime series which covers those books.

Yeah, I'm always confused about Mithril being and operating everywhere around the globe. I do need to get the Full Metal Panic!-The Anime Mission. Also, the group Sousuke teams up with to hunt Gauron have M9's. So, I'm guessing there are quite a few for ace AS pilots of Mithril. I meant that the M6 are obsolete to Mithril. How did the US get their hands on a M9? Or did they have pictures of Mithril's, or something else.
The maker of the M9 and ARX-7 Arbalest should be something interesting.

Does anybody know what a wire gun is on an AS? It seems that both the ARX-7 Arbalest and the M9 Gernsback are equipped with it.
spoiler wrote:In The End of Day by Day, Book Two Part 5 A, the Venom is said to probably have used a wire gun to let it jump the height of 2 stories in so little amount of time.
So in order to know how a wire gun did that, I need to know what it is, or its properties, or both.

Judging from the description, it sounds like Batman's grappler.
Maybe it's a rocket-propelled spike with a tow line attached.

That seems pretty plausible. Hooks could just shoot out or something.
Edit: Nevermind, I just found out what and where they are located in the Arbalest, and assuming is in the same position as the M9 Gernsback.
