the following story came to me after reading countless dd fic's involving gang fights. this story is conected to the main fmp, but is behind the sence that no one but Headqauters knows about.
*********************************************************
The music was rather loud. Natasha could tell that the people around her were bothered. But she wasn’t about to care. She needed to find the right train stop. She had already spent 30 minutes looking at the map and was no taking a quick bathroom break before she returns to studying the map.
Natasha looked at the reflection in the mirror. Her hair was still as long, wavy and brown as always. Her green eyes seemed almost evil with the amount of black eyeliner she was wearing. The small cut in the corner of her mouth only made the over all affect worse. Add blaring headphones screaming rock music, a ratty jean jacket, a stained t-shirt, a worn down pleated plaid skirt and one really old pair of sneakers and you had Natasha’s general look. She looked like some one you would not want to mess with. Most likely one of the reason that no one had helped her out yet, because she didn’t look very welcoming.
Natasha fingered the talisman around her neck; she doubted her choice to move here more and more. Sure she had some Japanese blood, but most of her was Spanish and Italian. She did speak the language; she had her aunt somewhere here in Tokyo. Now if only she could get there.
Her aunt had not been able to come pick her up at the airport. Natasha had walked the train station and found herself in her current situation. She had tried real hard but she just couldn’t make out her aunt writing and match it with any of the stops. She had tried to ask for help but nothing had worked. People seemed to think she was joking. Was it because of her looks? Darn her punk clothes, this was not the first time they had gotten her in trouble. She could go to the bathroom and change into something else. She deiced against it.
Natasha put her hand in her pocket just in time to feel some one pick it. That she would not stand for. Natasha grabbed the boy’s hand and pulled him to the side of the station, out of the way of traffic. He would get a proper beating for trying to ripe her of the little money she had on her.
***************************************************
Darres was not concerned, he was bothered, annoyed if most. He did not want to have to work the crowds. He worked for uppers, he was not a common thief and neither were any of the boys in his gang. But they had orders, and that was all they could do. They were to make sure that no weapons were being put on the trains. There had been reports of a possible attack. Since they did not have the clearance yet to do a real mission they were forced to work the crowds. They would not steal for any one; they would only check shady characters.
Darres had hit Nico three times already for taking from the wrong people. Nico was his second in command but some times he seemed to need a baby sitter more than a leader. But now one girl they had been worried about had caught him. Nico was in line to get a pretty good beating from this girl. Darres made his way through the crowd; he made it just in time. He grabbed the girl’s wrist before she could inflict the first wave of pain on Nico. He pulled her to face him.
“I believe you are about to beat my friend here.” Was all that Darres was able to get out. He was in trouble; this did not look good for him or Nico.
******************************************************
Natasha did not have time to make the first hit, sure she had kicked him in the kneecaps already but that was not what she thought of as pain. Her hand had been so close only to be caught. Natasha struggled for a second before the sheer force of the other person pulled her to look at him. Natasha was sure she was dreaming. It was rare that guys out of punk fantasies ever turned up in the real world, but here was one griping her wrist and staring her in the eyes. He was at least half a foot taller than Natasha and he had a gaze that could have made her drop and turn into jelly, if she hadn’t been so intent on pounding the one boy coring on the floor. This was the guy that Natasha had dreams about and he was standing in front of her, hold her wrist saying that she shouldn’t beat up the other kid. She snapped back to earth.
“Really?! Tell your friend here to keep his hands out of my pockets.” Natasha finally release as she removed her wrist from the boys grip, giving the scouring creature a kick for good measure.
“I’m sorry.” The boy shoot an evil look at the boy on the ground. “Is there any thing I could do to make it up?” he asked.
“Yeah sure, you can tell me how to get to this neighborhood.” Natasha ripped that paper out of the one boy’s hand and showed the address to the other. “I need to get there, but those stupid maps aren’t helping.” The boy considered the paper for a second and then turned it up side down.
“Yeah I know how to get there, in fact, I live there.” He smiled and handed back the paper now reading the right way. “My name is Darres, and that thing you have pinned to the floor is Nico.”
“Natasha, I just go off the plane and it would be great if you could help me find my aunt’s house. But I can’t guaranty that I wont inflict later pain on Nico over there.” It was weird but the made an odd face at the word ‘aunt’, almost as if he knew something that she didn’t.
************************************************
Darres flinched when Natasha said aunt because he knew he would be taking her to an empty house. Mr. And Mrs. Verde had disappeared three weeks ago. Darres knew because he was one of the operatives on the case. So how was it that word had not reached their family. He had personally handled sending the letters to the family members. Could there have been a wrong address? Not likely. This was not a good situation at all. Had he skipped something when looking over the case? Darres would need to contact head quarters as soon as possible. Mithril needed to know that they had missed some one.
Darres gave the hand signal for Nico to call the other boys back to the house and have them wait there. As Darres and Natasha boarded the train he could see the boys slip back to where Nico was. Darres was proud of his group. He had helped take a group of street boys and turn them into well train agents. Sure this group was not considered real assets, but they were given missions and they had a duty to make sure that gang fights didn’t happen. A few years ago while another one of Mithril's agents had been on assignment here in Tokyo there had been several gang fights that greatly danger the mission. After that Mithril had started a kind of boot camp to recruit and train street boys. The idea was to create gangs that followed orders, kept the peace, and solve minor problems in the neighbor hoods. The gangs had been place in areas where it was important that other missions not be interrupted. Darres took his job seriously, even if he didn’t have a rank and the pay was extremely low.
The train ride was quite. Natasha had put her headphones back on and was tuning out the rest of the world, or at least that’s what Darres thought she was doing. How was she going the react to the sight she was going to see soon?
As they turned down the dark street his fears where answered. The note for the police was still on the door. Natasha read it and fell to the floor. She started to cry.
“I should have known. I had a bad feeling about this but…” She broke off and buried her head in her arms.
“Maybe we should do something.” Nico said to Darres. He had gotten on the train also and followed them here. He had come just in time to see Natasha’s reaction. Nico went over to her and kneeled down so that he was on her level. “Hey, you look worn out. You can come sleep at our place and in the morning we can go to the police station and help you find a place to stay.”
Natasha stood up real fast knocking Nico over. “Sure that would be great. As long as I don’t have to sleep next to you.” Natasha steeped on Nico’s foot.
“You can have my room.” Darres said attempting to avoid the chaos that was bound to happen. “I just hope you know what you got us into.” Was all that he could say to Nico.
Dares deiced that he would contact one of the report drop offs of this new development. How could headquarters have overlooked a family member? It was not like this case so unimportant, it was greatly important. Two of the most important Whispered researchers had gone missing or more likely kidnapped and now their nice was here to see them. This was something that a regular agent needed to deal with, not a street kid train to act like one.

yeah sorry i have been holding out
i am acctualy a really big writer. (now if only i could get back my 52 page story from my ex things would be better.)
i have been meaning to post this for like weeks but have never had time.
i will get to writing right away.
we had a snow day so i was able to post
i also have a sci-fi story that i wrote the other day that i am going to post
but i will get right on to writing more of this (if my dad doesnt push me to do more spanish homework that is.)
Darres is a huge fan of Sousoke's work. thats how it connects. see i realized that in dd's stories there are alot of gang fights. and i was thinking that mithril might want to keep those to a minimum.
