FullMetal*Panic!

I've been really aggrivated/disappointed at the amout of original fanart there is out there, almost everything I've found has been copied off of either Tateo or Douji. SO! Best way to fix it is to do it yourself! The covers of the mangas inspired this to some extent, I was looking at how Kaname's skirt is always blowing around and it reminded me of that ever so famous Marilyn Monroe picture from "Seven Year Itch."Joe DiMaggio divorced her because of it.... here's hoping Sousuke doesn't feel the same way

When drawing this I didn't use the Marilyn picture as reference, simply because I don't have any books with the picture in it (and I don't draw at my computer desk.) I did use the first black-and-white page of volume 1 of the manga as reference though, to get Kaname's uniform to look something like it should. Hands and feet are practically every artist's weak spot, so yeah.... I'll be working on it.

It's a sketch, so it's going to look kind of... eh. In my sketchbook it looks much better, but it's only lightly sketched so it doesn't scan well. I'd like to ink it, but am sorely lacking good quality paper to ink on, and if I try to do it in my sketchbook the ink bleeds everywhere. If I get/find the materials I'll post the pic.

I'd like to also draw Sousuke in a suit, with his back facing the camera (so he's facing Kaname) but ergh, guys in suits... I just don't have the experience or reference material yet. I'll be working on that too. Anyway, enjoy!!

it's a nice picture .. but i couldn't ID Kaname (yet) but still like it anyway .. <g>

I looked through the pictures from "Seven Year Itch" on IMDB, and man, they are a lot more sultry than my original sketch! I decided to do another sketch that was more like the promotion pictures, so here's the sexy version. It's even more of a sketchy sketch than the first, but I did it in like 15 minutes AND I'm about 6 hours after my bedtime, so hey They'll get cleaned up later.

I like the concept for your sketch. The shape of the second sketch's skirt just does not seem quite "right." Too simple, maybe?

Perhaps you can add the bow Kaname ties at the bottom of her hair? It's far enough down I think you'd still get interesting hair flying effects.

/Av whispers to AB - I think it's perspective and her arm position ... err ... shall we say fluffing? There are ways to appear to have more there... Try visiting a rensaissance festival and visit the corset shop to see what I mean...

How in the heck does a girl explain that to a guy? OY! Guys have it so easy in that department...

Anyway... (back to munching on my pixie stixs for maximum evilness today...FLAVORED SUGAR!)

The first drawing looks better proportions wise. But you did well on both (better than me...) The face and the hair will probably be the biggest focus for the fanart junkies. Watch her facial features carefully.
