UNWANTED RESOLVE: A Happy, joyful slice of HELL... part II the sorrow like a badge
Sousuke finished binding his fists for the fight. He looked at the face in the mirror. Some times he could swear the face that looked back was Gauron’s.
“Excuse me Sir?”
Sousuke turned to the source of the voice. It was one of the bar maids. For a second he could swear he knew her from somewhere. She had silver hair matching eyes and a slight build she seemed a bit bewildered. She reminded him of captain Tesstarosa and that pissed him off.
“Yeah what do you want?”
“I was told to bring you a drink before the fight”
The bar maid offered, him a glass of some strong local concoction. He gave here a slightly annoyed look and downed the drink in one gulp. Like all, the local brew it burned his throat and stung his tongue. The bar maid dismissed her self. Leaving Sousuke in the shadows.
“Are you sure I won’t get in trouble?”
“Dah, Dah, you did as I asked you they will never know. “
The girl looked in to Chekhov’s eyes and then made a quick exit, her payment already taken care of.
Chekhov turned and looked at Ms Mao and Mr. Webber they were preparing for the fight this plan was fool proof and would lead to his goals, soon the real game would start. He had been waiting years for this. All most all the players were in position just a few more pieces.
The Crowed could smell the blood already the Tension was so thick it could be cut with a monomolecular cutter. “Sousuke, Sousuke, Sousuke-!!”
The chant had started. Mao and Chekhov took their seats. In one of the boxes a place where only bosses could sit Chekhov had made arrangements Mao would not be recognized from her last visit every thing about her was changed. From her dress to mannerisms she held the persona of a modern day mob honey. Chekhov took the persona of her sugar daddy; Well Kurtz took the most important role of all. The Challenger.
“It’s time, Ms Mao.”
“I know but I am still not sure about this the last time Sousuke and Kurtz fought, Kurtz had the Edge but now, Sousuke is at his prime age and has more practice in the ring.”
“Do not worry I have made arrangements.”
“What does that mean?”
The Owner of the club took a position above the Arena.
He motioned the crowed to silence.
“Leaders tumble Legends fall and the crowd jumps to its feet with a roar. This is the way of the world it has been this Way From the beginning of Civilization and in that time one thing has always been there the need for sport. Here we give it to you. Here we give you the one thing all the great Empires have lacked, a champion. A fallen Hero a man who lost every thing but his honor and so he fights. As Your champion, He holds the spirit of the greatest warriors of history he was born on a battlefield. He wears His sorrow like a badge, A Badge of honor. I am proud to give you Your CHAMPION Sousuke Sagara-!!"

UNWANTED RESOLVE: A Happy, joyful slice of HELL... part II the sorrow like a badge
The crowed was ready a fight. Sousuke could hear them. It had been a week since the night Kurtz and Melissa had shown up. And ever since then his mind had been constantly thinking of the past. Not only of past events, but of what the people in his past would think of him. Every time no matter the person Kaname, Kalinin, Gray or Captain Tesstarosa the same look of disgust. He had been thinking for a long time that one day he would loose in this game, that day would no doubt be his last. The Visit of Kurtz and Melissa had brought that point home to him. Perhaps it was time to move on. The problem was that the man in charge was not the type you just quit. The only way he was going to get out of this was with a body or two. But what would he do then? Most likely he would end up in another dive fighting for booze, dinner and a place to sleep it off. So of what use was there in leaving?John Milton wrote: The mind is its own place, and in itself, can make heaven of Hell, and a hell of Heaven.
