Bad new FMP Fans!

Our much awaited Full Metal Panic Fumoffu or the second season will be 11 episodes long only. Originally, the series numbered 12 episodes, but one of them featured a kidnapping of a child. Due to recent events involving a kidnapping in Japan, this episode is removed from the schedule. There is a possibility the episode will feature on the DVD release though. This also resulted in the air time being brought back from August 4th to August 25th.

from a forum i've recently visited....... dammit!!!

Hell, FMP's batting 2 for 2 now...
2 series delayed (and altered) due to relevance to RL events.

12 (or 11) eps over ? japanese DVDs...6 is we're as lucky as usual
But maybe 3 over 4. <- hopes

When this comes to the US, I expect it to be a 3 (or less) DVD release! :P
The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

According to Dragon Magazine FMP 2 has 15 episodes and is going to air for 11 weeks. On the first week(Aug 25th) we're going to have 2 episodes, so I guess some eps are short about half as long as others and they put the two of them together.

from Animenfo.com,
Sagara managed to blow up Kaname's shoebox after he suspected that it had been tampered with, when it was actually someone putting a love letter into Kaname's shoebox...
Actually it's not Kaname's shoebox but Sousuke's... it's going to be the first episode to be aired.

hmmm ....according to my sources FMP2 was originally 12 episodes long, but is now 11 episodes long. Episode 2 of FMP2 had an event that involved a kidnapped child and recently there was a kidnaping in Japan and so Episode was cut out and in doing so, FMP2 was delayed...

Just going from what you two are saying, it looks like it may air 11 half-hour 'episodes' (1 a week), but that some episodes will be half-episodes, with a total of 15 (14? whatever) seperate episodes (some being only half length).

So, perhaps the different definitions of 'episode' could be causing the confusion.
Or else perhaps sources are wrong. *shrug*
(which could easily be the case, when you have two sources saying diff things. Maybe the info at one place is outdated? All FMP info is outdated  )

As for the shoebox- early in the manga Sousuke does blow up Kaname's box (for her safety :-D ), as the quote says. Perhaps there's a different incident when he blows up his own?
The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

I haven't read the manga for a long time(I don't like its artworks so I don't think I'll read it again :( ) and can't remember the blowing up a shoebox thing from it...

SPOILER!

but in a short story in the novel Sousuke thinks someone put something suspicious in his shoebox and bolws it up only to find the thing in his shoebox is a letter sent to him. It is actually a love letter sent by Saeki Ena(my user name was named after her :-D ) but he thinks it's a challenge from a terrorist.(most part of the letter was burn and torn by the blow up and he can't figure out what is written on it)

Maybe there is a little difference between the manga and the novel.

Oh, I'm sure there are differences between them :)

Until we can see the anime version, I guess we won't know which version they are going to use? It's supposed to be based on the novels, not the manga, but who knows what they will decide what to do?

I guess if Saeki Ena is in it, then it should be the novel version ;)
Which is probably funnier than the manga version anyhow...

Hmm...it seems somewhere I had seen some of the characters who will be in it.... :?

I'd really love to see Ena in the anime version. She doesn't fall into the category of "main characters" but is quite popular with the FMP readers.

FMP 2 op/ed songs

Image

they're sung by Shimokawa Mikuni who also sang the 1st series op/ed.

opening: sore ga ai deshou (maybe it's a love)

ending(closing): kimi ni fuku kaze (the wind that blows towards you)

Not sure if my traslation is correct. Damn my English! :(

Personally I'm a fan of her songs and already pre-ordered her new CD.. :D it's going to be released on Sep 3rd.
