I really liked the ending to FMP. It was appropriate for their character. It's really tough watching something from another country sometimes because of cultural programming. In America, it's common almost manditory at the hero and the girl exchange a kiss in the end. In Japan, that rarely ever happens. So as much as I wanted to see some physical affection, be it a hug or kiss, between S & K, I knew it wouldn't happen.

I have to think really hard about when anime characters willingly kiss each other. Accidental kisses don't count.

As much as i am a sucker for happy endings, Fmp didn't really disappoint the burried romantic in me

Because it was so obvious there would be an S2.

But dammit .. in the land of tentacle sex and goat spanking .. is a kiss so much to ask for ?
its a japanese thing ... no kiss before marriage.

While attending my japanese course for dummies,
We had two visitiors over from japan .. mother and daughter,
Both gave us a little insight how things are going on around there ...
She didn't wanna give her number though ...

Pretty much got that nailed on the head sorakirei. Yeah, I know they're
in love, you don't have to show them jumping into bed 15 mintues after
they just met. Conversely, long-running simmering romances can drive
a fan nuts, regardless. How long does the 'I love you so much you have
to hurt' have to be dragged out before they even make a move on each
other

Hi all, this is my first post, though I have been lurking for quite some time.

Sorry for resurecting an old thread but there is one point that hasn't been made yet in this K vs T thread which has to do with that scene where K tells S to cheer up T.

Remember the old addage:

If you love something let it go, if it returns to you, it is yours.

This may be what is being played out in the closing sequences.

Just my 2 cents.

For Chidori telling Sousuke to cheer up Tessa, I'm sure alot of
us would take it as Chidori being friendly to Tessa than a test of who
Sousuke likes better...

...but an interesting take on it nonetheless

There's that ponytail guy, who i'm told digs Chidori and doesn't get along with Sousuke. Perhaps someone for Tessa to out of nowhere crush? Or am I hoping for something way to convenient?

That ponytail boy, Tsubaki Issei (or Issei Tsubaki in western style), likes Kaname but Mizuki likes him. And there was a boy who loved Tessa in the original novels. He's Bani Morauta, one of the "Whispered" and he's the one who designed Abarlest. But he committed suicide during insanity. The new season anime is adapted from the short stories, so the story on Bani won't be told in it.

^^ Well.I've watched the first season around 5 times, but I havent read any manga or novel yet ( because of my loooong manga list). But I guess, the romance is FMP is to create a balance in the plot (since it's an action genre). But, yeah...I think Sousuke is quite confused between Tessa and Chidori.

Tessa is someone who is subtle and calm.But, like the others said, Sousuke cant feel comfortbale because she is a superior. Chidori, on the other hand, is an aggresive , normal Highschool student that gives Sousuke a glimpse of normal life.

But, I would prefer CHidori because she can absolutely make Sousuke act like a normal teenager. And I like her aggresive attitude. ^^
