I Have some questions...

Please be patient, since I have seen very little of the series, so some of my questions may seem stupid.

1)The USSR? From the anime series, I am under the impression that the USSR is still active. But from the Manga, the Soviet Union was gone. Did I misunderstand something or is there two versions of the story?

2) This needs only a yes or no to answer (and whether it is found in the manga or the anime): Do they ever tell how the Whispered are found? Is this explained in any degree?

3) Another yes or no question. In the anime, they said that only the Whispered can use the Lambda Drive. But Sousuke uses it. Is this wrong of the dubbed? I believe it is but I would like clarification.

Sousuke can use the lambda driver in the Arbalest, but I think it's a type that, so long as it is calibrated to the user, anyone with proper training (or without it) can use it. Takuma (Behemoth arc) had to take drugs to use his AS' lambda driver, but it was on a whole different scale than the Arbalest.

I have an alternative theory which will come into play in my story.

(Only seen the anime, it's an alt. world. and we need badguys)

2. in anime No .. but my best guess would be it takes one to find one.
(plus maybe they have access to medical records)

Tessa refers to a chemical code, T-something I think, and Kalinin
asks if she gets a 'response' from him. My interpretation of this is
there are some scientific and quasi-scientific ways, but it is still
very much guesswork and blackarts

There was a list of ppl suspected of being Whispered that was mentioned at the beginning of the story- the one that prompted the protective missions carried out by Mithril. How was that list compiled? I have no idea, but I've always been kinda curious as to the real nature of the Whispered.

I don't know the extent of info revealed in the japanese stories....but not much is known just based on what is available in english.
(there is some more stuff in japanese, but it was a little hard for me to determine what they really meant, in the info books.)

Aw heck, I'm gonna have to make a whispered post in another thread somewhere.

The USSR wasn't in the manga? I can't remember, having read the first chapters in those little bits in NTUSA.

It is in the manga, but it says "former USSR" A typo, perhaps?
