I'm always behind times. Anyways, now reading.... it strikes me that Hayashimizu is very perceptive... and it's good to see him here, instead of just Fumoffu.
EDIT: finished reading. That IRC chat is interesting.... (lol). Anyways, Shunya Chidori's position is rather small...... which leads me to wonder if he's actually a front for Mithril.
Hayashimizu has figured out that whatever's going on revolves around Kaname, and Sousuke very nearly confessed all to him. It's like Kaname said, mutual respect.
As a side note, Ren and Hayashimizu going home together is cute. They ought to get together.

Anyway, really liked the part [ecs]where Sousuke finally works up the courage to ask Chidori for something completely personal, ie has nothing to do with protecting her or schoolwork. Completely his own initiative too. And then Leonard comes along. Really don't like that guy. Although, I can't say that I particularly liked some of Chidori's reactions to the things he said either.[/ecs]

Well, really, it was supposed to be forced...the situation suddenly changed and Sousuke reacted to it...it's clear that he's been thinking about these things for a while (and after 14 books, I think it's fair to say it's not rushed). But I like where it's going, too.
