True, possibly. :)

Also, parts of garments that weren't supposed to disintegrate
did (metal, leather(?)) so that most of the people were
completely unclothed. And yet later we see them holding
some metallic and leather items to "punish" Sousuke with.

In Full Metal Panic! episode 9, after Tessa says that she and Sousuke never talked to each other like this, she mentions that Melissa's painting she painted of Sousuke, fitted him to a tee. Obviously that means that she knew some about Sousuke beforehand. Melissa's painting probably made emphasis on him being serious or very military. Also, does that mean Melissa is a good painter?

Melissa didn't literally paint a picture of Sousuke- Melissa gossiped and chattered about Sousuke to Tessa. That talking created an image of Sousuke's personality in Tessa's mind and she believes its accurate now that she has interacted with him outside of official/formal duty, even if only for a short while.
The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

Wow, such understanding...That's impressive. I get it now. Seems Melissa's painting ability is still in question though, or maybe I should just drop that.
