The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

oh my, all i can say right now is, that episode is way more disgusting as the last one... :shift: I'm talking about the cutting throat scene, I was pretty shocked. :hand:
And Kaname's appearance was pretty short again. About 1min?

I recognized something: The calendar in the student council room (showing the 10th month of the year) has the same bg as my avatar (scene of the fumoffu opening) this is funny... :D

Alright, just watched the raw.

The last episode was disturbing in a number of ways...this one is too. There's no fan service this time, and Kaname doesn't get a lot of screen time - but she's well done while she's on...gotta love the way she's being drawn.
The good news is, I think by now it's safe to say that this season will be 24 episodes....for several reasons...But I highly doubt anything else is possible.

However, there's also some more mixed news, that is to say, the disturbing and realistic quality of the combat scenes is here to stay...and it's not that I get sick when I see blood or anything..but people who do will _definately_ get sick this time...

Other notes:
Bluno is a guy in this one, and he's real creepy.
It appears that the AS the twin used in the last episode is codenamed 'shadow', and that therefore, it doesn't have a lambda driver
It appears that Gates is able to use the lambda driver since he's in a venom. As though we hadn't already guessed that he's on the same drug as that terrorist whispered kid was on.
Sousuke finally reveals his disgust for the Arbalast in this season, as he asks to be issued an M9 rather than that white piece of junk.
Tessa seems to be as distracted by Sousukes pressence as ever - going so far as to not only stare at him during Kalinins briefing, but also to do some odd sighs...
The twins are also pressent this time...eerie as ever. I'm not sure, but it seems one of them always pilots the as, and the other always does foot duty...
Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

Bluno's a guy... so that means no lesbo scene for Mao? Well, maybe a girl fight will make up for it. Sexy Chinese dress torn to shreds... ^^;

Don't the police usually "arrest" hostages first until they can confirm they're innocent? Mithril guys probably thought it's easier for them to run without handcuffs if they need to escape quickly. Oh well, I don't see how he could've avoided the surprise.

Pretty cool how Shadow decloaks, reminds me of T1000 from Terminator2.

O-Ren-san appears! Though we only see her backside and she doesn't speak... guess they don't have a seiryuu for her this time.

I thought it was interesting to hear some chinese mixed in with the japanese...very big difference between those two languages, far bigger than I had anticipated :-O

And the Police will usually secure the area before retrieving the hostages - a luxury mithril doesn't have on this mission. As such, it makes sense to approach this as a search and rescue operation, and during those, I don't believe there are any specific guidelines as to how you secure the hostages properly...but of course, I could be wrong.

upon reviewing it, I feel that this episode has a worse animation quality than the prior two, particularly during the later half - the conversation between Sousuke and Kalinin apears cheap, as a particular case, compared to the rest of the stuff we've seen till now...but since theres a lot of good stuff in this one too, it's hardly a problem.

There's also a minor...problem that some military buffs will undoubtedly have with this episode...Gates get's hit on his forehead by a dropped 12mm machingun bullet case/shelter/whateverthey'recalled, that's pouring straight out of a savage as it's firering upon something...

Such a case is incredibly hot, as I recall it....and considering that it's a rapid fire machinegun, the bullets are fired at a very high speed, meaning there'd be minimum pileup of already used cases...I like the idea of him getting one in his face, though...
Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

I just got finished watching the raw and let me just say, whoa! I totally jumped out of my chair when one of the twins sliced that man's throat (did anyone else think he was gonna die? I just had a hunch and I was shocked to see that I was right :-P ). The brief bits of violence in this episode were rather blunt: disturbing and to the point. I still can't get over it :-o I liked how Gates was riding in the open Jeep like he was one his way to a sunday picnic while all that carnage were taking place just in back of him. I also chuckled when got hit on the head with the empty cartridge shells and pulled out a little, pinkish hand mirror to check for bruises. LOL On some smaller side notes, Mao's sunglasses looked good 8) and the Spiderman dude from that cheesy flick Chidori was watching was just too hilarious for words in my book. All in all, I liked this episode and have not yet been disappointed by this series. I eagerly anticipate the next one :)

Just saw the ep. I'm glad that Bluno is a guy. It makes it more exciting IMO. The blood and gore in this ep didn't bother me but a scene in the preview freaked me out. :-o (I'm sure everyone knows what scene I'm talking about....) But still, this was a very suspensful ep that I really enjoyed! Can't wait till next week!

Man do I hate cliffhangers! :frown:
I don't have any regrets. I'm glad I met you Sousuke Sagara.

OMG the Samurai Spiderman! That part really had me laughing, especially when I saw the mask, that's what first came to mind.

It's also good to see Bluno. Finally, a beacon from the novels themselves. Also, was it Yu Lan pretending to be a hostage, or Yu Fan? I always confuse those two.

-

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Haven't seen it yet but from what you guys have posted there seems to be a lot to look forward to. 24 episodes, plenty of action, Ren-these are all wonderful things. Disappointed though that Kaname didn't get enough screen time.

F*CK!! I haven't been glued to my seat by an anime ep in a VERY long time!!
Samurai Spiderman? Err... Kaname's hobbies was never listed as being
a fan of stuff like that was it? Ahh well, so far her char's been reduced to
her hyperventilating obnoxious self that I know Satsuki Yukino so well for...

The Tessa / Sousuke tension... cute! Personally, I think it's a nice
development from the 1st anime but doesn't overpower the series with it.
Shy, sweet, silent, innocent...

Bluno.... *shakes head* Somehow that sly grinning on his face gave it all away.

Gates... well, he enjoys his work, but he lacks Gaulun's finesse and... idunno
what word I'd use. To me, he's the type that just shoots everyone and everything
in sight and lets things fall where they might, be they true targets or
bystanders, albeit he's quiet enthusiastic when this is happening... and
when you should feel the safest around him :shift: Too bad he didn't start
spouting 'Ave Maria' opera again.

@AEmer
Yeah, that shell casing drop scene kinda bugged me. A driver worth half
their salt wouldn't be driving near the legs of any AS for the simple reason
of their health -- jeep vs a couple hunderd tonne AS, no contest. And the
velocity of such a shell dropped from that height I don't really want to
think about... guess Gates is just that much off his rocker

North & South China  Hmm... I caught the National & Communist byplay.
Must be the residual animosity between Japan & China.

Sousuke doing homework inbound... not sure of that, to me Sousuke seems
the type he'd keep his mind on the mission everytime he's deployed,
but still, his education in his mind could constitute an (important) part
of the overall mission.

Yue Lang / Fang throatcut scene... euh, wasn't it show in #2 one of them
had a prelediction towards knives and the other towards guns? Slick
moves tho :-D So where's this leave Mao for the next ep?

And what's this ghost from the past? Oh, I SO can't wait!! Mmz,
I'm gonna have to check other sub group's about Sousuke's last line in
the preview: 'In order to see a daylight, a perilous adlib? must be
initiated from the darkness."
