[TSR] Trying to decide which fansub you should get?

Post by Tsushima Masaki »

Well I'm in that state of confusion that usually happens when 10 different groups decide to sub the same thing. Well, for FMP TSR it's 7 so far.

Here's a nice link for fansub comparisons

ultracarl also does comparisons for many other anime, so take a look around his site too!

Also, another comparison

I fixed yer linky so people don't have to cut'n'pasty - K

I'll be getting the raws, then the first speed sub, then AonE/AKingdom's when theirs is out.

Hehehe, I have to agree with Circle. I usually grab the raws, then move to the first translated sub (which has been with BakaKozou). I've seen some of the other groups' versions, but I think I like BakaKozou the best. :)

Ah, a fellow New Yawker, welcome to the forums JelliCelli. :)

Hmmm, seems we're getting plenty of fresh n00b's for the grill.

[/caution]

I do the same, I grab an HQ raw. then I grab the first speedsub. Then I'll grab a better translation later on, which I combine with the HQ raw and turn into a DVD. :D

KiLlEr...could you explain that process?, that is, the combining of a high quality raw with a sub?

I was under the impression that subtitles are usually hardcoded into the release and can't be snatched just like that? Or is it simply a question of tracking down a group who'll release their sub as a subtitle track/filter?
Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

Don't worry.... at least for the time being...

There are 2 ways:

1) Quick and Dirty - a.k.a. cheating with chroma keys
2) Slow and clean - a.k.a. Heavens to betsy! Priemere Pro can do subtitling!

(yeah, like you didn't see that one coming)

Both require good knowledge (as well as a copy) of Adobe Premier Pro. It will also require a copy of Adobe Encore if you plan to put it onto DVD (a subject I will not cover, since Encore is easy enough as it is, especially since you can set chapter points in Premiere Pro and export them into the rendered video file. all you need to make is a menu, which can be done in Photoshop CE, saved as a psd file and imported directly into Encore. Don't you just love it when software is sdesigned to work together? I know I do. :D).

I'll create a poll in other topics to gauge interest in which one people are interested in and I'll devote some time into making a tutorial.

POLL - 8 days only, starting on the 27th

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Nah, it's been a while since the last tutorial and I have a little bit of freetime now that 90% of the home improvements are done. All thats left is to paint a few rooms, but I'll wait for Sept. when the weather is cooler and I can leave the windows open for ventilation. I can get one or maybe 2 tutorials in before then.
