A possible idea concerning Sousuke's family (Spoilers!)

This is for those who have read about Sousuke's past:

[ecs]You know, the story has nothing concerning Sousuke's father or any possible siblings. Also, it was found that there was noone by the name of Sagara on that plane.

So here is my idea: It is possible that Sousuke's father is still alive (having not boarded the plane), and that there still is a possibility of Sousuke's sibling(s) being around. Wouldn't this make an interesting story?

A theory concerning the absence of "Sagara" on the plane: it is possible that Sousuke is the JAPANESE name of Sousuke; in other words, Sousuke could be half Japanese (probably on the mother's side, with Sagara being the mother's maiden name).[/ecs]

In the first episode of the first season of the anime (and I expect the same thing in the novels), Sousuke was asked by Mao if using his real family name was OK. To this he replied that no one has ever heard of his family name in Japan.

Therefore, his father either was not on the plane, or his father used an alias.

does kaname have any interesting past or before mithiril/souske came along was she just a normal girl?

You can find all about Kaname's past at the official Full Metal Panic! ADV website, she does have an interesting past so to speak. I wonder if Sagara's family mystery and details will ever be written down by Gatoh in the novels. Where did you get your source, Fullmetaljin? I've never known those points before.

I just hope he doesn't turn it into something dumb like Sousuke was her childhood friend and they were destined to reunited since the begining but forgot all about it.

oh GAWD! NO! well, so far Gatoh hasn't seemed like he's one to make things

Personally I think leaving a hole in Sousuke's past adds to his mystique, and
is able to let us understand a bit more why he doesn't fit too well into mainstream
Japanese society. Keep it that way!

...that and it lets fanfic writers speculate alot more

Yeah, it seems with his past a blur, Sousuke seems to be just some soldier that came out of nowhere. That's what it really seemed like in the beginning because not as much was known about him.

He's actually a bio-engineered life form created by Mithril using black technology, and was given false memories to make him seem more "normal". However, the technology is still unstable and there are a few minor defects which crop up from time to time. Kaname, the chief engineer, uses a highly specialized device to correct these defects which is cleverly disguised as a hallisen.

The "mission" in tokyo is actually the initial testing of this technology. Amalgam being a made up organization, and Gauron a top level soldier in Mithril, are all created to test the limits of the Sousuke-device.

A brother/sister incest thing going with Leonard and Tessa.... What do you expect from Leonard? He probably wants Kaname just because Tessa is untouchable now.... (Just kidding)
